The successful candidate will be located in Washington, DC or in the surrounding area.
 
Absolute Software is currently looking for a result driven, self-motivated Vice President, Federal Sales (‘VP’). This role will report into the Chief Revenue Office and will be a key resource in place to execute the company sales plan and help drive success across Canada and the US.  The VP will be expected to grow their team of Federal Account Executives.
 
Based out of your home office, the VP serves two key functions; first as a leader for the field Account Executives to primarily generate new annual recurring revenue (ARR) within Named Federal Agencies and second, as a management partner for the OEM and VAR teams.
Accountabilities Will Include: 
  • Drive New ARR business in the Federal space – The VP works with their peers to implement and execute the company sales plan and is responsible for leveraging sales assets to drive and grow net/new sales.
  • Management partner – The VP will work to understand each region’s business strategies and supporting activities required from each of their direct reports. The VP drives those activities in their territory and manages challenges as they relate to lack of execution and sales productivity.
  • Drive customer satisfaction – The VP gains a deep understanding of our large prospects’ requirements and need of our products, while managing a team helping them to work with their available resources to deliver high levels of customer engagement ultimately resulting in a sale.
  • Interdepartmental Leadership - The VP will provide leadership and an escalation path for AEs to other departments. They will also serve as a contact point if issues arise between department members.
  • Share communications across departments - the VP will have a quarterly business review with the head of sales. This will help bridge communication gaps between Sales and other company departments.  At a minimum, the VP will present the QTD sales data, and with it, the VP will present a snapshot of our sales by region, by product, etc.   The VP may also use the Sales forecast to provide insight into short-term and long-term future business. Considering there may be other relevant topics that surface, the VP can dynamically work them into the agenda as required.
  • Protect the security and privacy of Absolute and its customers.
What You’ll Need: 
  • 4-year College Degree
  • A proven track record of 8 years + of successful sales management, managing a field sales team.
  • A minimum of 7 years + of working in Government Technology sales. (Cyber Security Preferred)
  • Located in the DC Metro/Mid-Atlantic Region
  • Experience in the technology, security or SaaS industry, preferably in software or services
  • The ability to negotiate long-term license agreements directly with agencies or through our partners
  • Experience using Microsoft Office & Salesforce.com
  • Highly organized with a burning desire to win.

  • An ability to communicate with people at all levels inside organizations.
  • The ability to see the big picture, and the ability to achieve goals through others.
  • Force Management – Command of the Message would be a plus
