About the Company:

Sagan represents a global e-commerce marketplace specializing in high-value equipment. The company is scaling rapidly and requires a skilled finance leader to oversee multi-currency transactions, optimize financial processes, and ensure compliance with tax regulations.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a Finance Manager to lead its financial operations, managing global transactions, ensuring compliance, and maintaining accurate financial reporting. This role is ideal for someone with experience handling multi-currency payments, financial reconciliations, and tax coordination in an e-commerce or marketplace environment. The Finance Manager will collaborate closely with the companys CPA and executive leadership, with the potential to work alongside a fractional CFO in the future.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Operations:

  • Oversee payment service provider (PSP) pay-ins from buyers in multiple global currencies, ensuring accurate allocation to escrow accounts.
  • Supervise timely seller payouts, ensuring a smooth experience while retaining company fees.
  • Manage QuickBooks, including banking, reporting, and accounts payable.
  • Handle sales tax processes through Avalara.
  • Resolve payment flow challenges with payees and PSP support.
  • Maintain real-time financial visibility through shared tracking tools.


Weekly Oversight:

  • Lead accounts payable (A/P) and cash flow management.
  • Provide weekly reports on Global Wallet balances and transaction flows.
  • Prepare executive dashboards detailing sales, profit breakdowns, and marketplace performance.


Monthly Duties:

  • Perform bank reconciliations and align QuickBooks with PSP records.
  • Ensure timely month-end financial close and reporting.
  • Collaborate with the CPA and executive team on financial reviews.


Annual and Compliance Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with the CPA to complete year-end financials and tax filings.
  • Provide documentation for audits and compliance reporting.


Strategic Financial Management:

  • Work with PSP representatives and developers to optimize payment systems.
  • Negotiate with lenders and banks to optimize financing and debt costs.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities in payment processes and operations.
  • Support future integration with a fractional CFO as the company scales.


Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Fast and accurate seller payouts.
  • Secure, well-documented payment processing.
  • Timely and CPA-approved financial reports.
  • Strong communication with executives, customers, and external partners.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
  • 3-5 years of experience in financial management, ideally in a global e-commerce or marketplace environment.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and multi-currency payment platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of A/P, cash flow management, PSP reconciliation, and tax compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with executives, CPAs, and external partners.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to evolving financial strategies.
  • Tax compliance software: Avalara (or similar).


Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience managing PSPs for e-commerce or marketplaces.
  • Background in year-end close and tax return coordination.
  • Proven success in cost-saving initiatives.
  • Ability to manage short-term A/P challenges.
