The Membership & Engagement Manager position resides in the Membership and Conferences department at SCTE. The position plays a crucial role in supporting the implementation of the membership strategy.  You will work closely with the VP, Engagement & Strategy to develop and roll out innovative products, partnerships and recruitment strategies. The impact of your work will be delivering member value for our community that enables deeper member engagement, brand awareness, and recruitment of new members.

 

The role requires significant expertise and may involve overseeing projects or processes. The Manager will need to demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills, particularly in building partnerships and developing relationships at all levels of the organization. The Manager must also possess excellent project management skills, strong analytical abilities, and proficiency in communication, both written and oral, to effectively engage with diverse internal and external audiences.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Generate and manage membership reports, analyzing demographics and trends to support retention and recruitment initiatives.
  • Conduct outreach for recruitment and retention campaigns, engaging lapsed members and non-members.
  • Collaborate with IT to automate and streamline processes.
  • Evaluate membership strategies and benefits and recommend improvements.
  • Review and update membership marketing materials and process.
  • Identify and execute partnerships with other industry associations and media partners.
  • Partner with internal teams to continuously improve the member experience.
  • Manage operations and logistics for Leadership Institutes. 
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

What Is a Must Have:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in management or staff position with responsibility over multidisciplinary functions, especially in strategy implementation, management consultation, and nonprofit management.
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Analytic skills with an eye toward organization and movement-wide strategy.
  • Highly organized and ability to manage priorities and deadlines
  • Energetic and pro-active ‘can-do’ attitude, don’t mind rolling up your sleeves
  • Able to stay calm, composed and professional, even under pressure, and to maintain effective relationships with staff, attendees, exhibitors and sponsors
  • Must be willing to travel (domestic), including weekend travel, ~20%

Compensation: The salary range is $82,420 - $100,620.  This position is eligible for bonus incentive compensation up to 17.5% of base salary.

Working conditions and physical requirements

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. This position requires travel up to 25% of the time. May be required to lift, move and transport equipment up to 25lbs.
