Base Pay Range:

$80,000-$105,000

As a Senior HRIS Administrator, your primary focus will be specializing in HRIS (Workday) security, including developing, maintaining, and recommending security models and protocols to ensure the integrity, privacy, and compliance of our Human Resources Information System (HRIS).

Key Responsibilities:

HRIS Security Management & Controls:

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve the HRIS security model, ensuring appropriate access levels and data protection measures.
  • Maintain, monitor, and update security protocols, roles, permissions, and system configurations to align with organizational security standards and external regulations.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of the HRIS to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities or security risks.
  • Collaborate with HR and IT teams to define and enforce user access policies and guidelines.

HRIS Operations & Continuous Improvement:

  • Configure, maintain, and monitor the Workday HCM system, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Diagnose and resolve system issues escalated from Tier 1 support, including technical problems, data discrepancies, and user access issues.
  • Identify and escalate complex issues or configuration-related problems to Tier 3 or HRIS leadership in a timely manner.
  • Support the use of Kainos technology by resolving outstanding Smart Audit issues, maintaining Smart Test Scripts, and other tasks as needed.
  • Lead data migration, validation, and cleanup activities, ensuring a seamless transfer of data; review and audit EIBs.
  • Support reporting and data requests, as needed.
  • Manage Workday releases by presenting new functionality, managing test schedules, creating instructions and guides, and mitigating risks.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to improve the efficiency, security, and effectiveness of the HRIS based on analysis of system performance, user feedback, and industry trends.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and advancements in HRIS and security technologies to ensure the organization remains competitive and compliant.

Collaboration & Support:

  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of employee inquiries, resolutions, and requests in ticketing software.
  • Develop and deliver training on HRIS instructions and best practices for users across the organization.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts during Workday releases providing guidance and support to resolve issues and enabling new functionality.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for HRIS security, providing guidance and support to HR teams and leadership as needed.
  • Collaboration with HR team and stakeholders balancing user needs with data security.
  • Partner with the Finance Compliance Team on compliance and SOX Controls.

Data Privacy & Compliance:

  • Ensure HRIS security practices are compliant with applicable data privacy laws, including GDPR, HIPAA, and other industry regulations.
  • Monitor HRIS data security and privacy to guarantee the protection of sensitive employee information.
  • Work with internal teams to address data breach incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience in human resources.
  • 3-5 years of experience working with HRIS systems, including hands-on experience with HRIS security and data privacy management.
  • 3-4 years of Workday experience with a focus on security models, configuration, auditing, and monitoring systems health.
  • Experience in access control, role management, and auditing within an HRIS environment.
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.) and their impact on HRIS security.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Certification in IT security (e.g., CISSP, CISM) or Workday certifications is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Continuous viewing from and inputting data to a computer screen.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Travel as necessary (<10%).
