We are Anchor Point Studios and we’re looking for a Senior Concept Artist to help us build the future of mind-blowing video game entertainment for a new, innovative 3D action title.  As the Senior Concept Artist you will be tasked with visualizing and communicating the artistic direction of our characters. You will play a crucial role in shaping the aesthetic of our games, creating character groups that captivate players worldwide. We are not just looking for an artist; we need a collaborative visionary who can contribute innovative ideas, engage in prototyping, drive our project from the character conceptual stage to implementation, and bring our unique and compelling characters to life. Additionally:

  • Create high-quality concept art that aligns with our unique art direction and design briefs for characters,weapons, costumes, environment props and gadgets.
  • Collaborate closely with the Art Director, vision holders, Game Designers, the Narrative department to ensure the artistic vision aligns with and enhances the game design and overall player experience.
  • Establish and uphold visual guidelines and standards during the Concept production process to ensure ongoing quality and consistency.
  • Help aiding the Art Director and maintain constructive feedback loops with both in-house and external Concept Artists.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the game's lore and mechanics to ensure art enhances the gameplay and player experience.

About You

  • A bachelor's degree in Art, Graphic Design, Game Design, or a related field.
  • Experience working on AAA titles.
  • Minimum of 6 years experience in a Concept Artist role within a game or entertainment studio.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating skills in concept art and a deep understanding of human anatomy/costume design, familiar with designing weapons and gadgets,  able to utilize shape, color, material, light and composition along with great rendering skills to finalize the design. 
  • Exceptional line art skills, capable of quickly sketch out variants in the early stages and producing refined production line art to develop shape language and help guiding the 3D production. 
  • Proficiency with industry-standard software, including Photoshop, Blender, Zbrush and other 3D modeling tools to aid with concept development.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to articulate design concepts and rationales to other team members and stakeholders.
  • Capability for self-directed work and taking a brief prompt and/or idea and pushing the visual boundaries to create something inspiring.
  • Work well on a highly collaborative team, providing constructive feedback to help steer the efforts of developers in and outside the Art department.
