Your Role
  • The Data Protection function shall work towards compliance with the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as well as other regulations on data protection and shall perform the tasks pursuant to Sections 4f and 4g BDSG and Articles 37 and 38 GDPR.
  • At Solaris, the Data Protection function is considered a 2nd Line of Defence (control) function and the requirements of MaRisk/KWG on risk management are followed.
  • The (Senior) Data Protection Manager reports directly to the Data Protection Officer of Solaris. 
  • As (Senior) Data Protection Manager, you are a (senior) advisor for the departments and the senior management. Inter alia, you are executing controls, investigating potential data breaches, supporting the Data Protection Impact Assessments, conducting Third Party Risk Assessments and Third Country Risk Assessments. Overall, you can play an essential part in further shaping these processes
  • Depending on your seniority and background assuming (full) responsibility for chosen areas within the function (i.e. advising on technical aspects of data protection)

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in a specialized law firm, in-house or consultancy firm
  • Ideally previous working experience in the area of banking and finance
  • English: full proficiency; ideally fluent in German but we will consider highly qualified candidates not meeting this requirement

  • Very good knowledge of applicable regulatory standards

  • Strong communication and presentation skills
