Job description

The Starknet Foundation is a pioneering organization dedicated to supporting the development, adoption, and governance of Starknet, a decentralized Layer 2 scalability solution for Ethereum. We foster innovation, provide financial and technical support, and ensure the sustainable growth of the Starknet ecosystem.

The Treasurer will be responsible for managing the Foundation’s financial assets, liquidity, investment strategies, and take part of risk management. This individual will play a key role in ensuring financial stability, optimizing treasury operations, and overseeing digital and fiat asset management. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in treasury management, particularly within the blockchain or digital asset industries.

Key Responsibilities:
Liquidity & Cash Flow Management:
• Develop and implement cash flow management strategies to ensure liquidity.
• Monitor and forecast short-term and long-term needs.
• Optimize working capital and fund allocation.
Investment & Asset Management:
• Manage investment strategies for digital and fiat assets.
• Oversee relationships with banking partners, custodians, and investment managers in liaison with Finance Operations Manager.
• Ensure the secure custody of digital assets in compliance with best practices.
Financial Risk Management:
• Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks, including foreign exchange and digital asset volatility.
• Develop risk mitigation strategies to protect assets.
Treasury Operations & Governance:
• Implement internal controls to safeguard treasury functions.
• Ensure compliance with Cayman Islands financial regulations and industry standards.
• Monitor market trends and advise on financial implications for the Foundation.
Stakeholder Relations & Reporting:
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including group auditors.
• Prepare treasury reports for the Board and senior management.

Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field; CFA, CTP, or equivalent certification preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in treasury, asset management, or financial risk management.
• Strong experience in digital asset treasury functions, DeFi, or blockchain finance.
• Deep understanding of financial instruments, liquidity management, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
**This role ideally requires someone based in the Cayman Islands. We are open to relocation**
