Job Description

As the Finance and Accounting Analyst, you’ll be at the helm of our financial operations, steering our innovative marine ventures towards sustainable growth and profitability. Responsibilities
  • Spearhead financial data analysis and reporting, providing actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making across our boat-building and fishing operations
  • Develop sophisticated financial models, budgets, and dashboards using advanced Excel and Google Sheets techniques, tailored to the unique needs of the marine industry
  • Lead the charge in streamlining our bookkeeping processes and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry-specific regulations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze the financial implications of new sustainable fishing technologies and innovative boat designs
  • Conduct in-depth cost analysis of our fishing operations and boat-building processes, identifying opportunities for efficiency gains and cost savings
  • Manage vendor relationships and payment processes, optimizing our supply chain for both our fishing and boat-building divisions
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for stakeholders, translating complex marine industry data into clear, actionable insights
  • Support the budgeting process and perform variance analysis, helping to align our financial performance with our sustainability goals
  • Contribute to the development of long-term financial strategies that balance profitability with our commitment to sustainable fishing practices


Requirements
  • Proven track record with 2+ years of experience in finance and accounting or data analysis, preferably in industries related to marine technology, manufacturing, or sustainability
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros) and Google Sheets, with the ability to create complex financial models tailored to the marine industry
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis techniques, with the ability to apply them to the unique challenges of the fishing and boat-building sectors
  • Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks or Xero; familiarity with industry-specific financial tools is a plus
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in financial data management and analysis
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate financial insights into strategic recommendations
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, innovative environment
  • Passion for sustainability and interest in the marine industry and its unique financial challenges
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA) or advanced degree is a plus
