About the job

As a Carrier Relations Manager at Twilio, you will play a critical role in managing relationships with our global network of carrier partners. Your work will ensure the continued success of Twilio’s communication products by ensuring the highest level of service and performance for our customers. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, sales, and legal, to drive initiatives that enhance carrier performance, negotiate optimal pricing structures, and manage key carrier partnerships.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Develop and manage carrier relationships: Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with a diverse group of global telecom carriers, ensuring excellent service levels and a long-term, mutually beneficial partnership.
  • Negotiate contracts: Lead the negotiation and execution of agreements with carriers, including pricing, service levels, and performance terms.
  • Performance monitoring: Track and analyze carrier performance metrics, ensuring that service levels are met, and proactively address any issues or concerns.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with product, engineering, and operations teams to align on carrier strategy and ensure carrier offerings support Twilio’s product roadmap and customer needs.
  • Strategic planning: Develop and execute carrier strategy to support growth and scalability in global markets. This includes forecasting carrier requirements and identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement in services.
  • Market insights: Stay up to date on telecom industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes that may impact Twilio’s carrier relationships.
  • Problem-solving: Address and resolve any complex technical, operational, or service-related challenges with carriers, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
  • Lead negotiations and pricing models: Work with internal teams to develop optimal pricing strategies for messaging and other telecom-related services, balancing cost, quality, and margin.

Required: 

  • 5+ years of experience in carrier relations, telecom partnerships, or a similar role in the cloud communications industry.
  • Strong understanding of the telecom ecosystem, including carrier operations, pricing structures, and performance metrics.
  • Proven ability to negotiate contracts, pricing, and performance agreements with global telecom carriers.
  • Ability to assess and interpret performance data, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and legal departments.
  • Familiarity with international telecom regulations, markets, and carrier landscapes.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years’ of experience

Desired:

  • Deep experience working with telecom companies, including SMS aggregators, carriers, or global communications platforms
  • Software, SaaS, CPaas or PaaS experience

Location

This role will be remote, and based in Brazil

Travel
