We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Settlement Processor/Post Closer to join our dynamic team in Odenton, MD. This role is essential in ensuring smooth and accurate real estate transactions by managing the settlement process and ensuring all post-closing tasks are completed efficiently. Key Responsibilities
  • Settlement Processing:

    • Review title commitments, contracts, and lender instructions to prepare settlement documents.
    • Collaborate with buyers, sellers, lenders, and real estate agents to ensure timely and accurate closings.
    • Coordinate and schedule settlements while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Post-Closing Tasks:

    • Review executed documents for accuracy and compliance.
    • Disburse funds in accordance with settlement statements and lender instructions.
    • Record deeds, mortgages, and other required documents with appropriate local jurisdictions.
    • Ensure all documents are properly organized and submitted to lenders, title insurance underwriters, and other stakeholders.
  • Client Communication:

    • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, answering questions and resolving any issues related to settlement or post-closing.
    • Maintain a professional and courteous relationship with all parties involved in the transaction.

Qualifications
  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 2 years' experience in settlement processing, post-closing, or a related role in the real estate or title industry.
    • Familiarity with Maryland real estate laws and regulations is required.
  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in settlement software such as SoftPro, Qualia, or similar platforms.
    • Strong knowledge of title insurance policies, HUD-1, ALTA Settlement Statements, and lender documents.
  • Skills and Attributes:

    • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
