Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits is currently seeking a Senior Director of Business Intelligence who possesses the below qualifications. The Senior Director will create a fact-based, transparent performance management culture for DFWS Sales organization creating a competitive advantage for DFW&S by delivering fact-based understanding, insights and recommendations that facilitate timely decision-making for the sales organization.

 

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Develop Team: Manage and develop a team of 5 analytics leaders who drive the performance management process for field sales through analysis, insights, and storytelling
  • Lead field sales performance management processes, Lead processes including annual planning, monthly continuous planning, R&O, and bi-annual LE reviews
  • Advisor to Sales Leadership: Advise the Sales Leadership on performance insights, execution opportunities, and tactical recommendations to achieve annual goals.
  • Project Management: Lead BI-related Sales “Plan on a Page” initiatives, develop and manage BI-specific projects, and play a key leadership role in DFWS strategic projects requiring BI support.
  • Distributor Collaboration and Integration: Collaborate with strategic contract distributors to optimize BI connectivity and performance management alignment across the distributor network
  • Monthly SLT Sales Performance Updates – Support the VP of Business Intelligence in preparing the monthly sales performance update to the executive team through analysis, insights, and recommendations

Qualifications

Industry-Specific Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the wine and spirits market, including trends, competitors, and consumer behavior.  Understanding of sales strategies, analysis, and performance management and familiarity with the inner workings of the distributor network and ways of working

 

Leadership and Management: Proven experience in leading, managing, and developing teams. Ability to develop and implement strategic plans that align with organizational goals. Strong project management skills to oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously. Experience in developing and implementing training programs

 

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills - Ability to analyze complex data and provide actionable insights. Strong problem-solving skills to address business challenges and opportunities. Expertise in analyzing economic trends and industry dynamics

 

Communication and Collaboration: Ability to prepare and deliver compelling presentations to executive leadership and stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with various departments and external partners. Proficiency in using data to tell a compelling story that drives decision-making

 

Technical Skills: Proficiency with data sources like Circana, Numerator, Mintel, Nielsen, IWSR, and VIP. Experience with BI tools like COGNOS, CRM, Unify, and other relevant platforms. Expertise in managing large datasets and ensuring data quality and integrity
