Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Capital Projects Specialist provides essential tracking, reporting, and administrative support for all CURE capital projects. This includes compiling financial reports, tracking progress milestones, and maintaining project documentation to ensure effective decision-making. The Capital Projects Specialist will be responsible for cost management, tracking financial activities and producing cash flow forecasts and budget vs actual reports. They will track progress milestones and deadlines. They will utilize project management software to provide regular reports, dashboards and assist the capital projects team in making data-driven decisions. This is remote position on the continent of Africa.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  1. Maintain a standard project management template and keep each project folder up to date.
  2. Maintain up to date project budgets and cost reports.
  3. Maintain and update GANTT charts and project tracking tools, ensuring accurate reporting on progress milestones and financials.
  4. Liaise with the project team to track and report on project timelines, expected completion dates, and outstanding action items.
  5. Assist the project team with documentation and filing of reports in a timely manner.
  6. Track and report on project concerns, escalating issues to the Project Engineer and Leadership for resolution.
  7. Track and reconcile budget vs actuals, working with the finance and accounting teams to ensure alignment on spending.
  8. Making recommendations for continuous improvement of team processes and policies to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget.
  9. Data Analysis: Develop and maintain a comprehensive project data repository, including financial data, progress metrics, risk assessments, and performance indicators.
  10. Assist in maintaining and applying the framework for evaluating and prioritizing capital projects.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Experience with financial reporting and variance analysis for capital expenditures.
  2. Certifications in one or more aspects of project management.
  3. Proficient in Microsoft Project or other project management software (Odoo Project, Asana).
  4. Minimum of five (5) years of building construction project experience.
  5. Experience in hospital / healthcare construction is preferred.
  6. Background check will be required, if shortlisted.
  7. Proficient in English: Speech and Written Communication.
  8. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
