About the team:

Centralized within the Digital organization, the Data & Analytics team is growing rapidly in order to support new initiatives that will enable business stakeholders to more effectively leverage data to support their daily activities.  We are a lively, collaborative group of data enthusiasts who find great joy in delivering high value data solutions to our internal customers.  We work on the top priority efforts across the organization and are key to enabling data-driven decision making.

Your Role as a Senior Data Analyst:

As a key member of our analytics team, you will bridge the gap between complex data insights and actionable business strategy. Your primary focus will be to:

• Become a Trusted Advisor (Quality Mindset): Partner with business stakeholders to understand their challenges and translate them into data-driven solutions that directly improve business outcomes. This involves proactively identifying opportunities for data utilization and providing strategic recommendations.

• Drive Collaborative Problem-Solving (Stakeholder Aligned): Work closely with business teams to define, prioritize, and execute data-driven projects that enhance existing processes and unlock new opportunities. You will be instrumental in translating business needs into clear analytical objectives. You will ensure your deliverables clearly communicate the "what" and "why," scope, usage, and key takeaways to your target audience.

• Master Data Craftsmanship (Results Focused): Demonstrate proficiency in data cleaning, and analysis, ensuring data integrity and accuracy. You will transform data into compelling narratives through clear and concise data storytelling.

• Foster a Data-Centric Environment: Share your knowledge and mentor junior analysts and business users on best practices in data analysis and problem-solving.

• Communicate Complex Concepts Effectively: Clearly and concisely articulate complex analytical findings and methodologies to non-technical audiences. Translate technical jargon into business language, ensuring stakeholders understand the implications of data insights.

• Champion Data Integrity and Customer Satisfaction: Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and usability of all analytics deliverables, prioritizing customer satisfaction and driving a culture of data excellence.

Experience You'll Bring:

• Proven Track Record of Impactful Analytics: Extensive experience in an analytics role, demonstrating a strong ability to translate data into actionable insights that drive measurable business outcomes. You should have a proven ability to work closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver solutions that address their challenges.

• Expert Data Visualization and Storytelling: Solid experience developing compelling data visualizations using modern reporting tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Thoughtspot etc.). Possess a strong ability to craft data-driven narratives that resonate with both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.

• Advanced SQL Proficiency and Data Manipulation Skills: Advanced working knowledge and hands-on experience with SQL, enabling you to efficiently extract, manipulate, and analyze complex datasets. You should demonstrate a strong ability to handle data quality issues and contribute to data governance efforts.

• Exceptional Communication and Problem-Solving Abilities: Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to clearly articulate complex concepts and findings to diverse audiences. You should be able to effectively collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, iteratively develop and deliver solutions.

• Independent Analysis and Mentorship: Ability to perform in-depth analyses with minimal supervision, demonstrating a proactive and results-oriented approach. You should also possess a passion for mentoring junior analysts and fostering a data-driven culture.

• Strong Business Acumen and Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated business acumen to effectively elicit and understand business requirements, ensuring that analyses address meaningful questions and align with strategic objectives. You should be able to connect analytical insights to the broader business context.

• Data Governance Participation and Documentation: Experience documenting data quality information, and helping to maintain data governance tools such as Alation. Also, experience in documenting project requirements, progress, and findings in collaborative tools such as Confluence.

• Proven track record of impacting business decisions through quantitative analysis.

• Snowflake expertise:  Hands-on experience working with Snowflake, ability to leverage modern cloud-based data warehousing solutions.

• Experience building scalable self-service analytics solutions.

• Advanced data preparation and data transformation skills (e.g., Dataiku, dbt, github).

• Fintech/payments industry experience.

• Agile and collaborative project experience.

• Experience with data governance and data dictionary management tools, and use of tools such as Confluence for documentation of project requirements and progress.
