GEICO is seeking a Staff Engineer to join our Workday Financials team. This position is an opportunity to build from the ground up and imprint on the future. The position includes design, development, testing and deployment of various types of integrations using Workday core toolset. You will help drive our insurance business transformation as we transition from a traditional IT model to a tech organization with engineering excellence as its mission, while co-creating the culture of psychological safety and continuous improvement.
As a Staff Engineer, you will be a key member of the engineering team, working across the organization to provide a friction-less experience to our customers and maintain the exit highest standards of protection and availability. Our team thrives and succeeds in delivering high quality technology products and services in a hyper-growth environment where priorities shift quickly. The ideal candidate has broad and deep technical knowledge which includes Workday Financials, Integrations, PRISM, Reporting and Accounting Center.
Position Responsibilities
As a Staff Engineer, you will:
Manage system integrations within the architecture of the Workday Financial system
Own the complete solution across its entire lifecycle
Influence and build product vision with business stakeholders, team members and other engineering teams to solve complex problems
Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the entire software lifecycle
Lead in design sessions and code reviews with peers to elevate the quality of engineering across the team
Ensure accuracy and integrity of data and applications through analysis, coding, clear documentation, and problem resolution
Build product definition and leverage your technical expertise to drive towards the right solution
Work with other teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in Workday tools and technologies
Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with, and learning recent technologies, participating in internal and external technology communities, and mentoring other members of the engineering community
Mentor other engineers
Consistently share best practices and improve processes within and across teams
Qualifications
Experience developing new and enhancing existing Workday integrations, PRISM lineages & Accounting Center processes with financial domain
Experience with Web Services and APIs (WSDL, SOAP, REST and WS standards)
Strong technical experience with XML and XLST
Knowledge of Workday development tools (Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Workday Studio, Workday Report Writer, BIRT)
Experience with designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining solutions for complex integrations
Expert at creating complex calculated fields
Experience with developing systems that are scalable, resilient, and highly available
Advanced understanding of monitoring concepts and tooling
Experience architecting and designing new and current systems
Strong problem-solving ability
Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of developer tooling across the software development life cycle (task management, source code, building, deployment, operations, real-time communication)
Ability to prioritize workload and execute tasks independently, providing timely follow-up and resolution
Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Experience
6+ years of professional software development experience within Workday Ecosystem (Workday Financials)
3+ years of experience with architecture and design
2+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience
Annual Salary
$90,000.00 - $185,000.00The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
