Purpose of Position

  • To effectively manage and achieve profitable sales and margin growth, in line with business objectives and overall company guidelines
  • To implement, define and action effective trading plans (both ‘core’ range and promotional elements) that deliver sustainable growth through effective category management
  • To ensure that Stanley Black and Decker is recognised as the market leader and is established as the preferred tools supplier to our key Retail partners, including, but not limited to Currys, Robert Dyas and AO.
  • To actively seek new business opportunities for the BLACK+DECKER and STANLEY brands outside of existing Retail partners.

Major Responsibilities

  • To design and implement account development plans and promotional programs
  • To ensure effective and timely implementation of Stanley Black and Decker initiatives and objectives
  • To actively seek new business opportunities
  • To negotiate pricing
  • To have the ability to present and demonstrate products pertinent to your portfolio
  • To analyse sell-in and sell-out data
  • To maintain high levels of awareness of marketplace, competitor activity, and trends
  • To maintain a database of account information containing: contacts, product range, pricing and margins
  • To monitor procedures to provide best possible customer and account service levels
  • To involve and support all wider Stanley Black and Decker functions, aligning commercial activities and plans
  • To work with marketing colleagues to maximize in-store and on-line impact of BLACK + DECKER, STANLEY ranged products where applicable
  • To ensure range, promotional and NPI’s are forecasted and planned with supply chain
  • To effectively manage accurate and timely administration
  • To build and lever horizontal and vertical customer relationships

Accountabilities

  • To work closely with the BUC and Sales Director to achieve the Strategic plan
  • To achieve set KPI targets and overall, Stanley Black and Decker business goals
  • Key account sales growth; SKU profitability, promotional net margins, account profitability
  • Key account performance; account penetration, distribution of new products, customer relationships
  • Cost control and monitoring of personal expenditure
  • Win new business and new product opportunities
  • To be an effective member of the team seeking to drive for continuous improvement and sharing best practice

Education Required

Must have;

  • Degree or equivalent level
  • Good levels of Maths and English are essential

Work Experience Required

Must have;

  • Minimum two years at Key/ National Account Executive level
  • Minimum three years account management background
