The opportunity

We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented Global Travel & Expense Lead to oversee the end-to-end process for all travel and expense-related activities across our organization. This role will require close coordination across various functions, including Finance, HR, Supply Chain Management (SCM), Safety & Security, and more, to ensure that the global travel & expense management processes are streamlined, effective, and efficient.

As the Global Travel & Travel Expense Lead, your primary aim will be to critically review current processes, identify opportunities for process enhancements, and drive strategic improvements.

In this highly visible role, you will collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders globally and across different country functions to manage change, ensure stakeholder alignment, and lead initiatives that drive value across the travel & expense management lifecycle.

This position can be fulfilled remotely. We are prioritizing skills and experience over physical work location.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Oversee and manage the global travel and expense process, ensuring seamless coordination between Finance, HR, SCM, Safety & Security, and other relevant functions

  • Lead and collaborate with stakeholders across regions and functions to drive alignment and ensure the effective implementation of travel management strategies and processes

  • Manage change effectively across multiple geographies and ensure consistent communication with key stakeholders at global and country levels

  • Lead Global T&E Experts and collaborates with a global network of Travel Expense Managers/Team leads

  • Regularly assess the effectiveness of travel & expense strategies and suggest new initiatives to improve the overall travel experience for employees and the organization

  • Critically evaluate existing processes and implement improvements aimed at increasing efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing the user experience

  • Leads projects acting as Project Manager. Use cross-functional project management to facilitate integration efforts and drive collaboration, standardization, and overall process results while optimizing the capabilities and allocation of scarce resources

  • Provide recommendations for regulation adjustments based on data insights and industry best practices to ensure cost-effective travel management

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, HR, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus)

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in global travel and expense management, corporate travel expense management, or a related field. Strong background in cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management

  • Experience with global travel and expense management platforms (knowledge and experience with SAP Concur is a must)

  • Expertise in travel and expense management processes, including policy framework,  and reporting

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyse complex data, identify patterns, and translate insights into actionable strategies

  • Solid understanding of travel and expense system/tools and processes

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage relationships across diverse global and country-based stakeholders

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead change management initiatives and drive cross-functional collaboration
