We are seeking an experienced customer focused Web Developer to join our OMEGA Program.

Key Requirements of Section 508 Compliance: 

Web & Digital Content Accessibility

Websites, PDFs, and digital documents must be screen-reader friendly.

Content must support keyboard navigation (for users who cannot use a mouse).

Color contrast and font readability must meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).

Software & Applications

Applications must be navigable using assistive technologies like screen readers, voice recognition software, and alternative input devices.

Forms and interactive elements must be fully accessible.

Multimedia (Videos & Audio Content)

Captions and transcripts must be provided for audio and video content.

Audio descriptions should be available for visual elements that convey important information.

Electronic Documents & PDFs

PDFs, Word documents, and Excel files must have structured tagging for accessibility.

Text must be selectable, searchable, and properly formatted for screen readers.

Other Responsibilities:

• Develop, test, and maintain web applications, intranet portals, and online tools that support VA HHRC objectives.
• Ensure web security best practices, protecting against vulnerabilities such as SQL injection, cross-site scripting (XSS), and CSRF attacks.
• Optimize web applications for speed, performance, and user accessibility.
• Work with UX/UI designers to improve site navigation, usability, and content structuring.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices to enhance system interoperability.
• Manage version control and deployment pipelines (Git, CI/CD) for efficient updates and feature releases.
• Collaborate with DevOps and cloud teams to ensure secure and scalable hosting solutions.
