About the role

New opportunity for experienced Program Manager to lead a large highly visible project. In this role, you will manage the daily execution of NCR Retail-oriented solutions, reporting directly to the Senior Partner of Professional Services, and will be accountable for the program's deliverables. Collaborating closely with a leading entity in the market, you will be tasked with achieving the desired outcomes and meeting the company's established objectives.

In addition to your extensive experience as a Project Manager, you will possess a strong comprehension of retail customers and excel in independent positions within a dynamic setting. You will have a track record of effectively managing stakeholders, showcasing your ability to set expectations, and demonstrating an understanding of how to operate within a transparent environment.

What you will be doing

Program Leadership:

  • Define program scope, objectives, and success metrics in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Oversee multiple projects or larger programs, ensuring they meet business goals and objectives.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocations to guarantee successful execution.
  • Anticipate challenges, applying strategic thinking to develop preemptive solutions.
  • Manage program budgets, including resource allocation and cost tracking, to ensure financial efficiency.
  • Conduct regular status reviews with stakeholders, providing clear updates on risks, dependencies, and milestones.
  • Ensure proper documentation and knowledge sharing for each program phase to enhance transparency and continuity.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Lead cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with Strategy & Operations priorities and organizational goals.
  • Influence senior leadership by advocating for resources and process changes based on team insights and analysis.
  • Build strong influence across teams, empowering members to share perspectives and contribute to decision-making.
  • Contribute to a culture of collaboration and feedback to promote open communication and continuous improvement.
  • Model company values in leadership practices, cultivating an environment where these values guide decisions and actions.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive culture that supports team engagement and productivity.

Operational Excellence:

  • Resolve issues and conflicts efficiently, ensuring program objectives remain on track.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and deliver greater efficiency in program execution.

Team Management & Culture

  • Team Management: Guide the Delivery team to ensure high performance and a positive work environment. Encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Culture & Values: Actively promote the company’s mission, values, and culture in all aspects of your work. Participate in Culture Conversations and engage in regular performance reviews with your direct manager.
  • Performance Management: Experience in evaluating team performance, providing constructive feedback, and helping team members achieve their goals.

  What we are looking for

  • Minimum 12 years’ experience in project management and/or service delivery, with demonstrable experience in managing projects, budgets, staff, and delivery across various technologies and businesses.
  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline preferred.
  • PMP, Agile, or Prince 2 qualification preferred.
  • Experienced in client relations, management or account management.
  • Experience working on software-related projects.
  • Strong negotiation and commercial skills.
  • Proven financial management skills (P&L).
  • Excellent communication skills (written, presentation, and verbal); comfortable presenting to technical and senior leadership audiences.
  • Self-starter with the ability to adjust behavior in different scenarios.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex challenges.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to drive change.
  • High energy and demonstrated leadership desire.
  • Ability to work in highly pressurized and demanding environments.
  • Vast knowledge of the Retail industry globally – big advantage.  
  • Willingness to work outside traditional hours if needed.
  • Must have the right to work in Australia.
