Job Summary

As a Senior Engineer at the Porch Group, you will be a key player in the Agile development process, contributing to the sizing and estimation of tasks, mentoring team members, and working closely with Product Management and the US Engineering team.  What You Will Do As A Senior Software Engineer

  • Active participant in SDLC in an Agile environment to successfully deliver software development projects and set timelines
  • Individual contributor, delivering a high level of code and taking on more complex tasks
  • Collaborate with product management, web engineers, and data engineers to estimate, plan, and deliver features to production
  • Maintain and document best practices, standards, and policies as it related to software development
  • Run functionality testing (QA) and debug code

What You Bring As A Senior Software Engineer

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science, or four years of equivalent work experience
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience developing production software
  • Understands and can speak to all aspects of the software development life cycle
  • Proven collaborator, with clear, open and honest communication
  • Extremely knowledgeable with following tools:
    • C#, ASP.NET (.NET Framework and .NET Core/Standard, MVC)
    • React
    • TypeScript (JavaScript)
    • Redis
    • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Adjust to new situations and escalate issues quickly for resolution
  • Proven experience working with US based business teams  
  • Excellent written and communication skills in English language.
  • Ability to work within core US business hours / time zone expectations - Eastern Standard Time (EST) overlap
  • Workspace: A quiet space to work, an internet connection of at least 30 Mbps download | 10 Mbps upload
