Let’s discuss it during our call! To give you a glimpse: First Connect has been a product developed and supported by Hippo Insurance for years, and it’s now continuing its journey in the startup world. 

First Connect (FC) is a software platform for insurance agents to enable them to work efficiently and bring the industry into the 21st century. 
 
First Connect’s flagship offering is a powerful comparative rater where FC users – the insurance agents – can enter data once and generate multiple insurance quotes to offer their customers. Future work on this tool will dramatically change the market by leveraging integrations with external data sources to make the agent’s experience smoother. We plan to integrate an ever-growing number of insurance companies through APIs to offer their insurance products. 
 
In this role, you will own this area, making FC’s rater the best in class in terms of user experience, speed, accuracy, and costs. You will rebuild it to design the flows and also own the underlying integrations while incorporating it into our new SaaS offering. Interview our users to understand their needs, then work closely with our engineering, design, and business teams, as well as the carriers themselves, to prioritise, build, and monitor this product suite.

What will you do?
  • You'll deeply collaborate with the engineering team. This includes actively participating in the development of new features and initiatives, from initial requirement analysis and test planning to execution, regression testing, and final release sign-off.  
  • You'll partner closely with Product Managers. This means you will be responsible for prioritising testing efforts, clarifying requirements, challenging assumptions from a quality perspective, coordinating Business Acceptance Testing, and advocating for the needs of end users.  
  • You'll work closely with SDETs to expand and maintain our automated test coverage for new features and regression testing. You'll also collaborate with other manual QA engineers on cross-team initiatives. 
  • You'll proactively identify and mitigate potential risks, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. 
  • You’ll define testing strategies including functional and regression testing, write test cases and execute tests basing on product requirements and technical specifications.

  • Have 4+ years of professional QA experience, with a focus on manual testing – especially web applications (Black Box, White box and Grey box).  
  • Have a strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.  
  • Have experience with test case design, execution, and bugs reporting for complex systems (Frontend and Backend). 
  • Have experience in API testing using Postman or Swagger, including validation of API requests and responses. 
  • Experience with SQL for data validation, query writing, and ensuring accuracy of related data. 
  • Have excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. 
  • Have strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Experienced in reviewing and validating requirements and technical specifications. 
  • Have a very good command of Polish and English (written & spoken). 
  • Shows a strong ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tools, technologies, and testing techniques, while proactively expanding skill set to meet the evolving needs of ongoing projects. 
  • Independent problem solver who excels as a collaborative team player. 

    • You will get extra points for:
  • Previous experience with A/B testing tools.
  • Experience with logging, monitoring, analytical tools (e.g., Coralogix, Heap, Fullstory). 
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and their impact on the QA process. 
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies. 
  • Experience with Non-functional testing.
