Job description

About Us

Since 2016, dbt Labs has been on a mission to help analysts create and disseminate organizational knowledge. We've pioneered the practice of analytics engineering, built the primary tool in the analytics engineering toolbox, and have been fortunate enough to see a fantastic community coalesce to help push the boundaries of the analytics engineering workflow. Today, there are 50,000 teams using dbt every week, 100,000 dbt Community members, and over 5,100 dbt Cloud customers.

As of February 2025, we surpassed $100 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR), scaling from $2M ARR to this milestone in only four years. Simultaneously, we've exceeded the 5,000 customer mark, with 85% year-over-year growth in adoption among Fortune 500 companies. This momentum is fueled by dbt’s critical role as the data control plane for enterprise data teams around the world, who rely on the technology to transform data into reliable, actionable business insights. We're rapidly growing and looking for passionate people to join our global team. Learn more about what makes us special by checking out our values here.

As our team continues to grow, we’re looking for an experienced and strategic People Business Partner to work with our global GTM organization. This role will partner with and support our stakeholders to drive strategic people initiatives across all levels in the organization. They will be a sounding board and thought partner, coaching managers and employees, acting as a trusted advisor to the business.

In this role, you can expect to:

  • Partner strategically with business leaders to align People initiatives to business and organization goals
  • Collaborate and coordinate with leaders, finance, and talent acquisition teams on workforce planning, focusing on talent development, retention, and growth opportunities
  • Execute key People processes, including compensation planning, performance reviews, engagement surveys, and other People programs within designated groups
  • Implement People solutions that meet the needs of the business, such as change management, leadership development, and organizational design initiatives
  • Provide guidance and support to business leaders through organizational changes, growth, challenges, and other key business matters
  • Work with leadership on succession planning, identifying critical roles within the organization and developing strategies to maintain a robust talent pipeline
  • Collaborate with managers to assess employee performance, identify growth opportunities, and recommend appropriate development initiatives
  • Support or lead special projects, such as process optimization, policy implementation, and facilitating high-performance team workshops

You’re a good fit if you:

  • Have been the primary business partner for C and VP level executives in Sales (required) and Marketing (nice to have), and are able to coach and influence leaders at that level
  • Live and breathe Sales and all things GTM in a B2B company; you understand how their comp works, you’ve partnered with business/sales operations and enablement teams to operationalize productivity and growth, and it would be incredible if you’ve helped a Sales organization expand globally.
  • Bring firsthand experience working for a high-growth company during their international expansion phase, while not expected to be an expert at statutory requirements of all countries around the world
  • Are, or have been, a BP for a company at our next phase of growth 700 employees+
  • Have a knack for execution and are able to self-manage delivering tasks, projects, and programs
  • Embody superb judgment and integrity, including excellent decision making skills and a sense of urgency
  • Easily work both tactically and strategically to get business needs met
  • Bring strong attention to detail and the ability to effectively handle multiple priorities, without direct oversight

Who we are

At dbt Labs, we have developed strong opinions on how companies should practice analytics.

Specifically, we believe that:

  • Code-based transformations offer unmatched flexibility and transparency across various “multi-player” development to power everyone in the organization to collaborate on a common language
  • Data analysts should adopt similar practices and tools to software developers
  • Critical analytics infrastructure should be controlled by its users as open source software
  • Analytic code itself — not just analytics tools — will increasingly be open source

It turns out that a lot of other people believe this too! Today, there are 50,000 teams using dbt every week, 100,000 dbt Community members, and 5,100 companies paying for dbt Cloud. Our customers include JetBlue, Hubspot, Vodafone New Zealand, and Dunelm. dbt is synonymous with the practice of analytics engineering, defining an entire industry. We’re backed by top investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Sequoia Capital, and Altimeter.
