The role

We seek a dedicated Director of Fundraising to drive our efforts in securing financial support for voter participation initiatives. This role is crucial in ensuring the promotion of free and fair elections. Vote.org partners nationally to execute on-the-ground efforts, including voter education, registration, and mobilization. This is a remote position with travel up to 50%. The ideal candidate is passionate about democracy, has a strong background in non-profit fundraising, and excels at building donor relationships. They should be results-driven, strategic, and committed to expanding voter participation. This role reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

 

What you’ll do:

Cultivate relationships with donors, foundations, and corporate sponsors to secure funding.

●You’ll engage with major donors, foundations, and corporate partners, making meaningful connections in the nonprofit and political space.

●You’ll craft compelling stories that inspire donors and develop unique fundraising strategies.

●Develop and execute strategic fundraising campaigns to support voter participation initiatives.

●Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to align fundraising efforts with program needs

Manage grant and proposal applications, donor outreach, and fundraising events to maximize contributions.

Provides updates on fundraising progress and aligns strategies with the organization's mission and financial goals.

● Assist leadership in high-level donor meetings and partnership cultivation.

●Collaborates with marketing to create engaging donor materials, campaign messaging and fundraising appeals.

 

What you bring to the table:

Proven track record of securing funding from individual donors, grants, or corporate sponsorships.

●Ability to develop and execute fundraising campaigns and donor engagement strategies.

●Strong written and verbal communication skills for donor outreach and grant writing

Experience with various fundraising software.      

●Ability to develop and execute fundraising campaigns and donor engagement strategies.          

●You understand voter engagement, democracy initiatives, or social impact work.

● Bachelor’s Degree in Nonprofit Management, Political Science, Communications, Business or related Field (or equivalent experience).

We determine pay based on several factors, including, but not limited to, job-related skills, qualifications, experience, education, internal equity, and other relevant factors.
