We're seeking a Delivery Manager/Release Train Engineer to conduct the facilitation of critical team meetings, coaching of teams, planning and tracking work, and thoughtfully leveraging metrics. The Delivery Manager/ Release Train Engineer is the glue that ensures teams are successfully working in lockstep towards delivering measurable value on time for our customers. By partnering closely with the Program Director, Product Owners and team leads, and through facilitating Product Increment (PI) sessions, ART syncs, and more, the Delivery Manager/RTE drives the team's execution of the work and tracks the work towards major project milestones and goals. They communicate with stakeholders, unblock or escalate impediments, and help manage risks. They also leverage agile principles, emotional intelligence, and a get-things-done mindset to coach teams to ever higher performance.


Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates and improves the effectiveness of SAFe agile ceremonies and practices such as PI planning, ART sync, Inspect and Adapt, and similar to ensure the effectiveness of the teams in delivering value to clients.  
  • Supports and oversees the planning and on-time, high-quality delivery of development work from inception to completion for program teams, ensuring that teams can deliver work efficiently and without requiring heroics. 
  • Partners with program and team leads to determine project objectives, and supports the development of product roadmaps, backlogs, and measurable success criteria. 
  • Ensures clear communication and strong coordination across teams to ensure alignment and drive progress toward project goals. 
  • Identifies process pain points and implements and improves processes across teams to position them for success. These processes help teams easily track work, ensure strong communication, and guarantee that team members are focused on the right things at the right time. Takes a flexible approach, including selecting from various frameworks, such as outside SAFe, to maximize delivery outcomes.  
  • Manages client expectations and communications so the client is aware of project progress, risks, blockers, and needs from the client. 
  • Closely track program work and manage dependencies, risks, and issues. Provide mitigation strategies and resolve blockers to ensure smooth program execution when teams cannot resolve issues independently. 
  • Provide leadership and mentorship across a multidisciplinary team, including coaching in Lean-Agile methodologies, healthy team relationships, and constructive disagreement. Creates an inclusive culture and acts as a mediator to resolve conflicts and ensure a positive team dynamic. 
  • Partner with the team to continuously improve project delivery processes and methodologies through Inspect and Adapt workshops, 1:1 coaching, and more. 
  • Leads coordination for releases, including creating release plans and release announcements. 
  • Track and leverage metrics to measure success and identify areas for improvement.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • 4-7 years' experience as a Delivery Manager with working experience as a Release Train Engineer, scrum master, or equivalent, working with software development teams in an agile environment
  • Certified SAFe® Release Train Engineer (RTE) certification
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline. With eight years of general information technology experience and at least four years of specialized experience, a degree is not required.
  •  Demonstrated grasp of how to scale Lean and Agile practices, including the challenges associated with facilitating and continuously aligning a large development program.
  • Familiar with Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure)
  • Demonstrated leadership and analytical skills
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust; residing in the United States

Desired Qualifications:

  • Work within the CMS environment a plus

Working Environment:

eSimplicity supports a remote work environment operating within the Eastern time zone so we can work with and respond to our government clients. Expected hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern unless otherwise directed by your manager.  

Occasional travel for training and project meetings. It is estimated to be less than 25% per year.
