About ZAVA

We're on a mission to provide our patients with healthcare that is accessible and dependable at a fraction of today's cost.

Our team of Doctors, Engineers, Customer Support Advisors, Marketers, Product Managers, UX Designers, Pharmacists, and Commercial & Operations Specialists work collaboratively to develop and maintain a digital healthcare platform that provides our patients with healthcare that suits their needs & schedules.

The pandemic changed our lives, requiring us to find flexible, remote, and innovative healthcare solutions to meet our needs during challenging and changeable periods. Many of our patients turned to telemedicine as a convenient solution to getting their healthcare online from the comfort of their homes. By delivering a safe and efficient digital healthcare service, we've provided over 11 million consultations across the UK, Germany, France, and Ireland, enabling millions of people to have essential access to healthcare when they need it most.

It's our motivation to continue fulfilling their needs and to expand further to meet the needs of others, ensuring we're always there with the latest tech, treatments, and advice. Because we're doing more than providing healthcare, we're enabling & empowering people by making healthcare work for them.

We’re here because we care about healthcare, and we plan to be the largest digital primary healthcare platform for people across Europe.

About the role

We are looking for a UK-based qualified GP to join us as a remote-working Clinical Doctor. To succeed in this position, you’ll need to be GMC registered and have completed UK GP training or equivalent. We are looking for a doctor with an interest in digital healthcare, so if you like the sound of how we’re using technology to support our patients, we would love to hear from you.

What can you expect from working with us?

Safe and regulated environment - We have passed multiple regulatory inspections in the UK, including a recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), who consider us to be a safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led telemedicine provider.

Opportunity to influence the future of healthcare - Outside of your clinical role you will review how we can help more patients through innovation. You will play a key role in how we increase our clinical offering, expand our range of services, and refine and improve our platform.

Patient-focused mentality - Care is our fundamental deep-down motivation. We’re an organisation full of smart people who care - about patients, about each other and about doing the right thing. Because of this, we receive great patient reviews (see ZAVA UK TrustPilot reviews).

Forward-thinking, collaborative, and social team - Reporting to the Clinical Lead for the UK, you will sit within a dedicated team of GMC-registered doctors from a range of countries and backgrounds.

Weekly training - You will take part in our extensive weekly training and teaching programme, learning how to safely practice and develop digital healthcare.

Cross-Company Collaboration - To ensure our patients receive the best care, you will work closely with our Patient Care Team. You will also get opportunities to collaborate with the Service Expansion team, Product Development, Public Relations, Marketing, and IT teams to guarantee our platform remains safe, relevant, and easy to use.

Day-to-day the work will encompass:

Patient consultations: Using our asynchronous online platform (an interface between the patient and the Doctor), you will clinically review and assess each patient consultation, answer clinical patient messages, and, if safe, prescribe medication or give advice in line with ZAVA guidelines. You will also work closely daily with our Patient Care Team.

Service Expansion: Working alongside the Clinical Lead for service expansion and the clinical team, you will support the launch of new services that meet our patients’ healthcare needs.

Review of current practice: To ensure our clinical practice and guidance are safe, up-to-date, and of the highest standard, you will work with your team to update existing medical guidelines and improve the patient journey.

For this role, you need to be:

  • A GMC-registered GP with excellent clinical knowledge and good clinical judgment acquired from relevant experience working in hospitals and/or GP practices.
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
  • A caring and reflective practitioner who’s able to interpret and adhere to guidelines and evidence-based medicine.
  • Motivated, curious, and open to new developments within medicine, digital, and business.
  • Interested in how new technology and strategies can improve patient outcomes.
  • Computer literate and content in a largely computer based role working from home.
  • Committed to lifelong learning and professional development. We have an extensive teaching programme and encourage our clinical team to share insight and knowledge both within the team and the wider company.
  • Good at prioritising workload, managing stakeholders, and liaising with different teams.

Desired but not essential:
- Fluency in additional language
- Registered with the Irish Medical Council (we can provide IMC certification)
- Experience in asynchronous consultations

Personal qualities:

Humble; you listen and take on feedback, and you are kind and caring to those around you.

Inquisitive; you question the status quo, dare to do things differently, and explore the possibilities.

Resilient; you embrace change and face challenges.

Macher; you are innovative and rise above the rest to use your initiative to improve, develop, and deliver.

Collaborative; you actively share ideas, and work together to drive goals as a team.

In addition to competitive salary and remote working, you can enjoy the following:

Benefits from the day you join

We are working hard to try and level the playing field wherever we can. We know from research that men are happy to apply for positions where they fit just 60% of the requirements, whereas women and underrepresented groups often will not apply unless they feel they are a super close match. If you don't think you meet all the requirements that you see above, we absolutely encourage you to apply and tell us what we can do to give you your best shot - if you want. We know that talent is everywhere, and as much as nice CVs are nice, they are often not a proxy for the best person for the job. Please note: Certain positions will be subject to a satisfactory DBS check.
