Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager who will play a pivotal role in leading our accounting operations. The ideal candidate will be Philippines-based, a Certified Public Accountant (PH), and QuickBooks Certified with at least 3-5 years of U.S. accounting experience. This person will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end accounting processes, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, and managing a small team of junior accountants or bookkeepers.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Reporting & Month-End Closings
   

   • Manage month-end closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
     
   • Oversee the preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements according to U.S. GAAP.
     

2. Full-Cycle Accounting
   

   • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll, and client onboarding.
     
   • Prepare and file sales and use tax returns as required.
     

3. Team Management
   

   • Hire, train, and supervise 1-2 Bookkeepers, reviewing their output for accuracy and timeliness.
     
   • Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to junior team members.
     

4. Compliance & Controls
   

   • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
     
   • Ensure compliance with relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
     

5. Process Improvement
   

   • Identify areas for process improvement and implement strategies to optimize efficiency within the accounting function.
     
   • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., operations, customer service, IT) to streamline cross-functional processes.
     

6. Retail & E-Commerce Focus
   

   • Handle accounting tasks specific to retail and e-commerce, including inventory management and cost analysis.
     
   • Experience with importing and/or e-commerce transactions (Shopify, Amazon, or other platforms) is a plus.
     

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy (CPA license in PH required)
  
• QuickBooks Certification
  
• 3–5 years of related experience in U.S. accounting; more senior candidates with 5+ years of experience are also welcome to apply
  
• Demonstrated experience managing and training junior team members (Bookkeepers, AP/AR clerks, etc.)
  
• Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting (AP, AR, bank reconciliations, month-end close, financial reporting, payroll, sales and use tax)
  
• Familiarity with U.S. GAAP and other relevant financial regulations
  
• Experience with retail business accounting; knowledge of importing and e-commerce (e.g., Shopify) a plus
  
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
  
• Detail-oriented and capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
