Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled bookkeeper with proven experience, particularly in accounting, taxes, and comprehensive daily bookkeeping management. They will be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working independently to manage the company's financial records and ensure compliance with Canadian regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage payroll taxes and ensure timely remittances.
Handle HST (Harmonized Sales Tax) calculations, reporting, and filings.
Post bills, cheques, and invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
Oversee cash flow management and alert the management team of any discrepancies.
Process payroll and ensure compliance with Canadian labor laws.
Maintain and update financial records in QuickBooks Online.
Prepare financial reports as needed.
Collaborate with management on budgeting and forecasting.
Ensure accuracy and integrity of all financial transactions.
Assist with year-end tax preparations and liaise with external accountants if necessary.
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping experience with businesses in Canada or the like.
In-depth knowledge of HST regulations, payroll taxes, and Canadian accounting standards.
Proficient in QuickBooks Online and other bookkeeping software.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Strong communication skills in English (both written and verbal).
Experience preparing and filing HST returns.
Understanding of Canadian payroll systems.
High level of discretion when handling sensitive financial information.
