Position Overview: 

The Sr. Employee Relations Partner will serve as the primary point of contact for handling all employee relations issues, ensuring fair, consistent, and legally compliant resolution of workplace concerns. This role requires a deep understanding of employment laws, strong investigative skills, and the ability to coach and guide managers on employee relations best practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Policy Development, Compliance, and Training

  • Employee Relations Training Programs: Partner closely with the Learning & Development team to develop and deliver employee relations training programs for managers and employees to enhance awareness, understanding, and compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of employee relations policies and procedures that comply with employment laws and regulations. 
  • Regularly review and update policies to address emerging trends and changes in legislation, domestically and internationally.
  • Ensure policies are communicated effectively throughout the organization.
  • Conduct training, needs assessments and tailor programs to address specific needs within the organization.
  • Stay up to date on employment law changes and advise leadership on necessary adjustments to policies and procedures.
Employee Relations & Investigations
  • Lead and conduct internal investigations related to employee complaints, workplace misconduct, harassment, discrimination, and other policy violations.
  • Document and track all employee relations cases, ensuring thorough and legally sound record-keeping.
  • Conduct interviews with employees, managers, and witnesses, gathering and analyzing relevant evidence.
  • Collaborate with HR leadership and legal counsel (as needed) to recommend appropriate resolutions and corrective actions.
  • Collaboration and Guidance: Collaborate with HR Business Partners, legal counsel, managers, individual contributors and other stakeholders to address and resolve employee relations issues. 
  • Offer guidance and support in interpreting policies, navigating conflicts, and ensuring consistent application of practices. Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on employee relations matters.
Performance Management & PIPs
  • Guide leaders on performance management strategies, including drafting and implementing Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs).
  • Provide coaching to managers on handling difficult employee conversations and performance-related concerns.
  • Track and monitor PIP progress, ensuring accountability and fair treatment of employees.
  • Partner with leadership on decisions related to terminations, ensuring alignment with company policies and legal considerations.
  • Data Analysis and Continuous Improvement: Analyze employee relations data and trends to identify areas for improvement. Develop strategies and initiatives to proactively address potential employee relations issues and foster a positive work environment. Utilize data-driven insights to inform decision-making and measure the effectiveness of employee relations initiatives.
  • Case Management and Process Enhancement: Ensure accurate and confidential documentation of employee relations cases and related records, complying with data protection regulations and internal policies. Implement efficient systems for
    record-keeping and case management.
Conflict Resolution & Coaching
  • Provide guidance to employees and managers on conflict resolution strategies.
  • Act as a trusted advisor for leadership on sensitive employee matters.
  • Foster a workplace culture of open communication, fairness, and accountability.
  • Responsible for complex employee relations cases through leading and managing investigations into complex employee relations matters, such as discrimination, harassment, and misconduct allegations. 
  • Establish investigation protocols and ensure a fair and thorough process while maintaining confidentiality and impartiality. 
  • Provide expert advice and recommendations on appropriate actions and resolutions.
You will likely have:
  • 7+ years of HR experience with a strong focus on employee relations and investigations.
  • Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, Title VII, etc.).
  • Proven track record in leading complex investigations and resolving high-stakes employee relations issues in the U.S. and internationally.
  • Experience managing employee relations in a multi-country environment, with a deep understanding of cultural sensitivities and regional legal frameworks.
  • Previous experience in conflict mediation or formal conflict resolution training.
  • Significant experience in conducting employee investigations and maintaining confidential records.
  • Strong analytical skills, including data analysis for interpreting employee relations data and identifying trends.
  • Strong conflict-resolution and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex cases with confidentiality and discretion.
  • Experience handling high-volume employee relations issues in a fast-paced
