We Are: Commonwealth Corporation (CommCorp) is a quasi-public workforce development agency that strengthens the skills of Massachusetts youth, incumbent and unemployed/underemployed adult workers, and justice-involved individuals. CommCorp invests in and administers seven diverse workforce development programs and builds innovative partnerships with industry, education, and workforce organizations.

Position Overview
Commonwealth Corporation is looking for a dynamic intern who is eager to learn about our company by assisting various departments. You will primarily work with our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Director on several projects while contributing to a positive and rewarding work environment where diversity, equity, and inclusion are identified as foundational to CommCorp Strategic Plan. This individual will perform day-to-day operations, develop training materials, analyze DEI data, conduct industry research, and create content highlighting communities from historically excluded groups for theme months and holidays.
Interns will be expected to assist with any tasks assigned by a supervisor. Some work will focus on current projects and initiatives while other responsibilities will be directed toward future goals. This internship is an excellent opportunity to experience various aspects of DEI while working for well-known community-based organization.
Intern Responsibilities
Engage in project-based assignments that support the integration of DEI into CommCorp’s systems and culture
Engage in project-based assignments that focus on DEI Learning and education
Research best practices for DEI-focused training and professional development in organizations
Assist with the development of DEI-themed content for theme months, celebrations, and holidays for CommCorp's social media
Support execution of the Courageous Conversations series with DEI
Support the DEI Director and HR with the implementation of DEI-related hiring initiatives
Facilitate the planning and execution of meetings that engage all staff members across the organization, including All Staff and Lunch & Learn
Collaborate with colleagues and external stakeholders
Recent interns have completed the following projects:
Compiled DEI-focused resources for organizational use
Developed a comprehensive guidebook for engaging in conversations related to DEI issues
Intern Requirements
A college student or recent graduate with a major, degree, or course enrollment in Human Resources, Gender and Women’s Studies, Ethnic Studies, or related academic disciplines is preferred.
This opportunity is also open to individuals in transition between careers.
Eager to learn and work with various departments in the company.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Ability to multitask.
Familiarity with marketing computer software (Venngage, Canva) and social media platforms.
Good understanding of the latest Human Resources trends and techniques.

Be willing to receive developmental feedback.
Must reside in the state of Massachusetts for the duration of the internship.
