This is a remote position.

Job Highlights: 

Contract: Independent Contractor
Working hours: 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Brisbane time with an hour unpaid break


About the Role
We're searching for a motivated and experienced  On-Page SEO Specialist  to join our team and play a key role in optimizing our clients' websites for local search. This is a fantastic opportunity to leverage your SEO expertise and make a real impact on the online visibility of our clients, working within a structured project management environment.

What You'll Do:

  • SEO Implementation (Basecamp): Utilize our Basecamp project management system to receive SEO strategies developed by our team and implement them effectively on client websites.
  • On-Page Optimization: Implement on-page SEO optimizations using RankMath, ensuring websites are technically sound and optimized for relevant keywords. This includes optimizing existing content and new pages based on RankMath suggestions and your own expertise.
  • Content Optimization: Review and optimize new webpage content (after QC approval and web design implementation) for proper grammar, style (Australian English), and SEO best practices, working within the existing content creation workflow.
  • Technical SEO: Address technical SEO issues, including site structure, schema markup, page speed optimization, mobile responsiveness, and other technical elements.
  • Keyword Research: Conduct thorough keyword research to identify high-value keywords for our clients' businesses, as needed.
  • SEO Tool Proficiency: Utilize industry-standard SEO tools (e.g., Google Search Console, Google Analytics, RankMath, Ahrefs, SEMrush) for analysis, reporting, and performance tracking.
  • Local SEO Management: Manage and optimize local citations (e.g., Google Business Profile, Yelp) to enhance local search visibility.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Track and report on SEO performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations to the team.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other team members (e.g., content writers, web developers, QC team) to ensure cohesive SEO strategies, all within the Basecamp platform.
What You'll Need:
  • Essential Skills: Proven experience in on-page SEO, specifically for local businesses. Proficiency with RankMath, Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Ahrefs, SEMrush, and other relevant SEO tools. Experience using project management tools, ideally Basecamp.
  • Local SEO Expertise: In-depth knowledge of local SEO best practices, including citation management and Google Business Profile optimization.
  • Technical SEO Understanding: Solid understanding of technical SEO elements and their impact on website performance.
  • Content Optimization Skills: Excellent written and spoken English (Australian English) with strong editing skills and an understanding of SEO copywriting principles.
  • Analytical Abilities: Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and draw actionable insights to improve SEO performance.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as you'll be interacting with team members.
