Does this sound like you?

You’re a psychological care clinician looking to embed yourself in an organisation that supports your growth—both personally and professionally. You’re excited by the opportunity to take on additional responsibilities while continuing to deliver high-quality counselling services.

From day one, you’ll feel encouraged and appreciated through a comprehensive onboarding experience and structured training tailored to your role. You’ll also benefit from one-to-one clinical and peer supervision, case management support, and a monthly CPD programme designed to help you thrive.

It’s important to you that the organisation you’re part of is impactful and addresses real-world challenges. You’re seeking a role that allows you to play a vital part in both direct client care and the leadership of a dedicated clinical team.

What you’ll be doing (in a nutshell):

As a Blue Light Clinical Case Manager in our Clinical team, you’ll provide direct counselling support while also stepping into leadership and operational responsibilities. You’ll deliver confidential support through telephone, virtual, and face-to-face counselling, addressing issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, and work-related stress for employees across the public and private sectors.

In addition to your counselling duties, you’ll take on added responsibilities to help lead, support, and manage the Blue Light team, ensuring clinical excellence and smooth service delivery.

Day to day you can expect to:

Counselling Responsibilities:

  • Deliver structured short-term counselling via telephone, virtual, and face-to-face sessions.
  • Address a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, and personal or family challenges.
  • Follow evidence-based interventions in line with NICE guidelines.
  • Conduct triage to treatment models and complete clinical counselling support sessions.
Additional Case Management Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership to Blue Light team members, offering clinical guidance and operational support.
  • Conduct one-on-one meetings with direct reports to monitor clinical caseloads and team performance.
  • Develop and implement training for trauma assessments and Blue Light psychological assessments.
  • Ensure ongoing training for Blue Light team members remains up-to-date and relevant.
  • Foster strong relationships with third-party stakeholders relevant to the Blue Light service.
  • Monitor performance using KPIs, produce reports, and track trends to enhance service quality.
  • Manage clinical risk and take part in safeguarding duties when necessary.
  • Participate in clinical inbox risk reviews and join the on-call rota (up to 3 occasions per year) following a six-month probation period.
  • Assist in recruitment and training delivery when needed.
  • Drive service improvement initiatives through data analysis, feedback collection, and team collaboration.

To be successful you’ll have:

  • A degree or Level 4 diploma in counselling.
  • At least 1 year of counselling experience.
  • Registration with a recognised professional counselling body (e.g., BACP, NCPS).
  • Additional certifications or experience in specialised areas (e.g., trauma, addiction, domestic violence).
  • Experience leading teams or providing clinical supervision (preferred).
  • Advanced knowledge of counselling theories, techniques, and best practices.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Competence in risk assessment, crisis intervention, and managing complex cases.
  • Familiarity with reporting systems and data analysis tools.
  • Experience working with Blue Light services (optional but beneficial).

Please note, all applicants must be legally entitled to accept and perform work in the UK and all positions are subject to an enhanced DBS check.
