Purpose of Job
Grow sales of alcohols, alkylates, and surfactants into Technical Formulations markets:
- Align with Sr. Sales Manager to implement marketing and sales strategies
- Responsible for sales to existing and potential customers in assigned territories in line with
- business strategies and objectives ensuring profitable growth.
- Support the global TF team with the execution of specifically agreed initiatives
Key Accountabilities
- Independently perform, direct, guide and coordinate the commercial activities with and for customers within an assigned geographic territory.
- Establish strong customer relationships and achieve superior customer satisfaction to ensure customer loyalty and profitable growth.
- Aid in and support the execution of marketing and sales strategies for Technical Formulations markets
- Support Junior Sales Managers with difficult customer interactions and negotiations
- Implement pricing strategy within agreed guidelines
- Define and communicate value propositions to customers
- Drive the negotiation and execution of contracts with customers
- Acquire, provide, and document market information from customers in CRM
- Provide accurate sales forecasts
- Establish excellent internal cross-functional relationships with R&D, S&M, Business Commercialization to coordinate and manage all aspects of daily business and sales
Formal Education
Working Experience
- 7+ years of experience in the Chemical industry
- 4+ years sales experience in Chemical market
Required Personal/Professional Skills
• Demonstrated business acumen commercial, and sales experience
• Understanding of Sasol's alcohols, alkylates and surfactants business
• Industry specific knowledge (products, applications, customers, competitors)
• Excellent communication, relationship building, and selling skills (i.e., interacting with customers, negotiations, building trust/partnerships, and decision making)
• Prioritizing and control of workload
• Willingness to travel (up to 60%)
