Job description

Agricultural Economic Research Graduate Intern

Location: Virtual
Duration: 10 weeks (June – August 2025)

Job Overview:

Land O’Lakes is seeking a highly motivated Agricultural Economic Research Graduate Intern to support strategic decision-making by delivering actionable insights on market, industry, and competitive intelligence. Reporting to the Chief Economist and collaborating with a cross-functional team—including the Chief of Staff, Government Relations, and business leaders—the intern will conduct research on agricultural and macroeconomic trends, assess the implications of policy developments, and participate in the shaping of business strategy.

The intern will analyze industry and economic data and assess their impact on Land O’Lakes and its customer-owners. At the conclusion of the internship, the intern will present key findings and recommendations to leadership, contributing to scenario analyses and strategic planning.

Required Experience & Education:

  • Currently enrolled as a first-year MBA/Master’s student (expected graduation in Spring/Summer 2026) or a Ph. D student with a concentration in agricultural economics, agribusiness, strategy, policy, data analytics, or related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), virtual collaboration tools (Teams, Zoom), and CRM software (e.g., Power BI) for data access and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in agricultural and economic research, global market analysis, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. and global economies and familiarity with key economic data releases.
  • Previous experience in food and agribusiness is desirable.
