Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer with deep expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will focus on enabling a self-service model—providing teams with the tools and frameworks needed to provision and manage cloud resources autonomously—while actively monitoring and optimizing cloud spend. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud environments to support our applications and services.

As a senior member of the team, you will provide leadership in best practices, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability, performance, and security. You will also establish governance, implement automation, and develop standards that empower teams to deploy and manage infrastructure independently.

What you'd be doing:

Be the primary contributor to SageSure’s cloud strategy by clearly articulating a roadmap and actionable projects to achieve strategic objectives
Design, configure, and optimize cloud infrastructure primarily on AWS and secondarily on Azure.
Develop strategies to enable self-service provisioning and configuration for development and operations teams.
Monitor and optimize resource utilization to ensure cost-effective cloud solutions.
Use Terraform to create, update, and version-control cloud infrastructure, promoting standardized and automated provisioning.
Configure and manage virtual networks, VPCs, subnets, load balancers, and routing tables.
Develop and maintain Python boto scripts for AWS automation, tooling, and integrations.
Assist teams in building and maintaining Linux server images (e.g., Ubuntu, Red Hat, CentOS)
Collaborate with finance and leadership to provide regular cost reporting, analysis, and optimization recommendations.
Work with security teams to ensure cloud solutions adhere to industry standards (ISO, SOC 2, GDPR, etc.).

We're looking for someone who has:

Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience managing and optimizing cloud environments, with a strong focus on AWS.
Networking: Proven ability to design and troubleshoot network configurations (VPC, subnets, DNS, routing, VPNs).
Terraform: Advanced skills in writing and maintaining modular, reusable Terraform configurations.
Python: Proficiency in developing automation scripts and tools.
Communication: Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
