Responsibilities:

*Depending on qualifications, this role could be a Senior Reinsurance Analyst OR a Reinsurance Manager

 

We are seeking an experienced Ceded Reinsurance Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing the ceded reinsurance process, ensuring efficient and effective reinsurance operations, and maintaining strong relationships with reinsurance partners. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of reinsurance principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across various departments.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and Implement Reinsurance Strategies: Design and execute reinsurance strategies that align with the company's risk management framework and financial objectives.
  • Reinsurance Placement: Manage the placement of reinsurance treaties and facultative covers, including negotiations with reinsurance brokers and partners.
  • Contract Management: Oversee the review, drafting and management of reinsurance contracts to ensure alignment with upfront underwriting terms and conditions, as well as compliance with regulatory and company standards.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze reinsurance data and trends, prepare reports for senior management, and provide insights to support decision-making.
  • Relationship Management: Maintain and enhance relationships with reinsurance brokers, reinsurers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Compliance and Risk Control: Ensure all reinsurance activities comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies, and manage risks associated with ceded reinsurance.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in reinsurance.
  • Technical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to effectively present complex information to various stakeholders.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and team management abilities.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing reinsurance contracts and financial data.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant regulations and industry standards affecting reinsurance.

Compensation & Benefits

 

The applicable base salary for this opportunity is $105,000 - $140,000.  The base pay offered will be determined by factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements.  In addition to the base salary, this opportunity may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
