** This position will ideally be based out of our corporate headquarters in Austin, TX and will be hybrid. Individuals need to be willing to commute to Downtown Austin 2 days a week. We will also consider individuals in DFW, San Antonio and Houston for a remote role. **
Job Summary:
Thrive Pet Healthcare is looking for an Accounting Manager over our Pet Care Revenue and Cash Accounting to join our Accounting team. The ideal candidate will be well versed in revenue recognition, management of revenue interfaces between Point of Sale and General Ledger systems, and Cash Accounting reconciliation procedures.
Responsibilities:
Revenue Recognition for all veterinary practices
POS (Point of Sale) entry automation/implementation (PIMS – within Veterinary industry a plus)
Manage multiple staff in a remote environment
Oversee Cash Accounting for all Thrive Pet Healthcare
Strong verbal/written communication, with liaison experience within varied levels of management
Process standardization and documentation including the ability to establish and document new processes – SOP | Standard Operating Procedures
Collaborate with Operations for ongoing revenue recognition and cash management matters
Independent, hands-on execution with fact-based decision-making capability
Facilitate working with IT / technical resources to help design/test/ implement automation solutions
Project management, facilitation skills to drive a multi-faceted financial system implementation project
Understanding of audit requirements; incorporate key compliance standards into any new systems and interfaces
Positive approach to change, efficient operator, fast paced and driven with attention to detail
Key Qualifications:
Accounting or Finance degree required
5+ years experience in accounting, preferably with multi-store/unit, retail back-office operations
Previous experience managing staff
Proficient in general ledger accounting, process improvement, and adherence to internal controls and policies
Previous experience with Workday General Ledger desired
Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Suite products
