We’re looking for a Partner Operations Manager with a demonstrable track record of building and scaling operational solutions.
This individual contributor role will build and own the operational strategy, systems architecture, and analytics requirements for Zapier’s Channel Partner Programs and internal processes.
The role reports to the Partner Operations team that serves Zapier’s Ecosystem & Channel organization.
Ideal candidates have a broad range of skills with established deep technical, analytical, and strategic expertise. This subject-matter expert role collaborate with cross-functional teams spanning Partnerships, Product, RevOps, Marketing, Data, Support, and Finance. Strong autonomy and excellent communication skills (written + verbal) are required to thrive in Zapier’s fully remote culture.
If you’re an experienced operator energized by fast-moving, distributed environment and you excel at owning highly complex projects end to end, we’d love to chat.
You have 6+ years of proven operational success.
You’re a subject matter expert. You’ve sourced, designed, and implemented highly technical operational solutions, ideally collaborating with cross-functional teams in SaaS or similar B2B contexts. You’ve experience prioritizing across cross-functional stakeholders, user needs, short to long terms, and resource capacity planning.
You learn quickly, and on your own.
You enjoy learning, and have a track record of proactively acquiring new skills. You’re able to infer, skim to quickly determine courses of action, and know how to uncover context when needed. At work, you are often the one to adopt, champion, and enable new process and tools among teams. If you’re not already proficient with the tools named below, you would be by the end of your onboarding.
You are highly proficient with iPaaS, APIs, and SaaS technologies.
You have hands-on expertise in automation platforms (pref. Zapier), and you have significant expertise leveraging APIs (both directly and via integrations) to build systems spanning multiple tools and types of users. You’re familiar with CRM/PRM platforms (pref. Magentrix) and marketing automation suites (pref. HubSpot).
You demonstrate ownership and autonomy in everything you do.
You’re able to create and deliver functional roadmaps and execute on them without supporting teams (you are the supporting team). You identify opportunities and issues without being prompted. You balance multiple project timelines effectively, escalate challenges early, and drive work to completion with minimal guidance.
You can deliver operational excellence in a fully remote, self-driven setting.
You’ve succeeded in asynchronous, globally distributed teams. You bring structured communication habits, are proactive about uncovering information, and can coordinate across multiple stakeholders and time zones.
You leverage tools to amplify your capabilities.
You apply intentional processes and rituals so you and teams work more effectively together. You use AI extensively to learn and accomplish across both highly technical and non-technical needs. You’ve regularly used AI to understand and produce functional code for workflows, webpages, and more.
You excel at proactive communication and stakeholder enablement.
You document thoroughly, keeping teammates and leadership in the loop. You seek out the right people or channels for support early and consistently. You’re adept at producing both high-level enablement materials and in-depth technical guides for varied audiences.
You’re comfortable context switching between technical execution and strategic planning.
You are able to architect end-to-end solutions — and personally implement them — from broad organizational objectives. You rapidly gather requirements, then deliver functional solutions that scale. These span from complex cross-functional collaboration strategy to sophisticated technical systems.
You’re data-driven and analytical.
You are comfortable writing SQL queries, building dashboards, leveraging BI tools, and digging into data to inform decisions. You can also translate data insights into meaningful recommendations for cross-functional partners and leadership.
Preferentially: You’re skilled at designing and managing channel partner programs.
Ideally, you have experience building and administering partner portals, managing payouts, and reporting on partner performance. You understand how to create frictionless experiences for both the partners and internal cross-functional teams.
Architect and execute long-term projects: Scope, design, manage, and deliver operational solutions Zapier’s Channel program
Own the Channel Ops roadmap: Drive the vision and execution for partner operations. Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional partners to ensure alignment on timelines and outcomes.
Build partner product experiences: You will own Zapier Partner Portal development. You will proactively solve for the needs of solution partners and Channel teams. This will involve process, product development, user experience design, business intelligence, and establishing automated systems.
Build and scale automated systems: Leverage Zapier (and other automation tools) to build large scale, multi-system solutions that span internal teams, all Zapier partners, the users they serve, and a wide variety of in-house and third party software.
Enable and train stakeholders: Ensure stakeholders have the enablement they need and tools work as expected. Deliver training and resources to help both internal teams and external partners leverage new systems effectively.
Deliver visibility into performance and impact: Set up and maintain analytics solutions that track channel impact, revenue, and partner activity. Present insights regularly to stakeholders and leadership.
Drive cross-functional collaboration: Engage with RevOps, Product, Data, Support, and Finance to ensure all internal requirements are met and all operational solutions effectively integrate with other teams external systems and processes.
Maintain and update solutions for efficiency: Proactively identify areas for improvement while ensuring risks are foreseen and issues handled. Build scalable solutions that bring value to users user, partners, and internal teams. Reduce manual work when automation is the answer, or add human involvement when manual is preferable to overengineering.
