Job description

Purpose of Role

  • Strengthen organic growth in the company and to make a significant contribution to the Group’s long-term success through all corporate and operational functions
  • Enhance flexibility, speed, cost and productivity to ensure the sustainable growth path and long-term competitiveness
  • Contribute to the achievement of our True North objectives
  • Contribute to the definition of harmonized ways of working and standards
  • Support the Deployment Directors on the global roll-out of the Synthomer Excellence (SynEx) methodology (including Strategy Cascade at regional and site level)
  • To own, improve, develop and train the methodology, coaching assigned Green Belts in driving improvements
  • Consults and coaches the organization at all levels and orchestrates the various SynEx activities with their assigned divisional/regional scope

Main Accountabilities

  • Work effectively with businesses and support functions to translate process findings/pain points to Safety, People, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Profitability, improvements and standard work implementation
  • Foster the growth of operational excellence behaviors throughout the business through coaching, mentoring, and training GBs, YBs and teams,
  • Lead Business Excellence* activities with at least average benefits of $250,000 - $500,000 per annum
  • Focus on large business-critical projects that will hone understanding of SynEx tools and drive business impact
  • Contribute to/Lead up to 2-3 activities per year depending on the complexity/magnitude.
  • Execute established method for benefit quantification.
  • Conduct data analysis on program results to establish and mitigate risks, ensures that process improvement initiatives are aligned to business requirements
  • Provide team leadership in the application of Lean, Six Sigma and Opex tools with an end-to-end holistic approach
  • Communicate effectively with various levels within the business to educate in SynEx methodologies and influencing, and motivating both proactively and reactively
  • Deploy appropriate methodologies to problem solving and support teams to solve problems.
  • Ensure the escalation process is effective for overcoming hurdles, solving problems and engaging senior stakeholders
  • Perform Value Stream Assessments
  • Monitor the completion of tasks and ensure satisfactory performance and recording on appropriate systems
  • Continue to proactively develop his/her holistic understanding of the Synthomer business and of emerging tools & techniques
  • Effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Contribute to the design, implementation and the continuous improvement of the SynEx Blueprint, Standards, Templates, Methodology and Philosophy
  • Be an active member of the SynEx community

*Business excellence includes in operations, commercial, innovation, supply chain, procurement and other areas

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or Business related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years’ demonstrated experience in continuous improvement, manufacturing and/or chemicals industry.  Ten or more years preferred.
  • Six Sigma Greenbelt required. Blackbelt certification is preferred.
  • Strong track record in leading and coaching Continuous Improvement Projects to successful completion with measurable results.  
  • Experience analyzing and identifying process improvement opportunities; partnering with stakeholders to ensure projects align with strategic priorities and achieve intended results.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships internally and externally
  • Self-motivated with a strong drive, determination and target-oriented mindset

  • Ability to plan and manage at both strategic and operational levels
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills across cultures
  • Experience working across cultures collaboratively in a global organization

  • Excellent MS Office software experience
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 50%.
  • Ideal candidate will be located in the Eastern half of the United States, within driving distance of a major airport.
