Permutive seeks a highly motivated data-centric Regional Director to drive sales and partnerships within the DACH region. This is a purely hands-on, individual contributor sales role focused on acquiring new business across all sizes of media companies, from enterprise-level media organisations to smaller publishers and broadcasters. 

You will play a critical role in expanding Permutive's market share, building upon our existing success with major publishers already on board in Germany, by directly engaging with key decision-makers. This role offers the opportunity to impact our growth in the region significantly and, for the right candidate, presents a potential path to future leadership as a Country Manager.

What you’ll be doing…

  • Own DACH Sales: Take full responsibility for personally achieving and exceeding new business revenue targets for Permutive in the DACH region. This involves direct selling and partnership development. 

  • Develop and Execute a DACH Playbook: Create and implement a comprehensive sales strategy and playbook specifically tailored to the DACH market, including target account identification, outreach strategies, and value proposition messaging for different segments of publishers.

  • Drive the Entire Sales Cycle: Manage the complete sales process from initial prospecting and qualification through negotiation and closing. This includes rigorous needs analysis, proposal development, and contract negotiation.

  • Strategic Targeting & Pipeline Generation: Identify and prioritise ideal customer profiles within the DACH media landscape to ensure a strong fit and maximise long-term customer success. This includes owning your own pipeline generation through proactive outreach, networking, and lead nurturing targeting both large enterprises and smaller, high-potential media companies. 

  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with Permutive's Product and Engineering teams to provide market feedback and contribute to product development, ensuring alignment with customer needs. Critically, partner with the local Customer Success team to ensure seamless onboarding and ongoing customer satisfaction, maximizing renewals and upsell opportunities.

  • Build Strategic Partnerships: Cultivate and manage relationships with key partners and existing customers to expand market reach and create new business opportunities.

  • Become a Trusted Advisor: Position yourself as a subject matter expert and trusted consultant to prospective clients, deeply understanding their business challenges and clearly articulating the value of Permutive's solutions to customers of all sizes.

  • Elevate Permutive's Brand: Leverage our existing success with major German publishers to further elevate Permutive's brand at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to increase brand visibility and generate leads across the DACH region.

  • Market Intelligence: Maintain a deep understanding of market trends, competitor activities, and product developments to effectively communicate Permutive's value proposition to customers of all sizes.

What you’ll need

  • Native or Fluent German: Essential for effective communication and relationship building within the DACH market.

  • Hunter Mentality: A proven track record of aggressively pursuing and closing new business, with a strong drive to exceed sales targets as an individual contributor.

  • Partnership Focus: Experience building and maintaining strong relationships with partners and customers to drive mutual success.

  • Solution Selling Expertise: Mastery of a solution-based sales approach, including experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles. Familiarity with MEDDIC or similar sales methodologies is highly desirable.

  • Technical Acumen: A strong interest in and understanding of the data and technology landscape, particularly within the digital media industry. Experience working with or selling CDPs is a significant advantage.

  • SaaS or Data Sales Experience: Proven success in closing complex SaaS or Data centered deals. 

  • C-Level Relationship Building: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with C-level executives and key decision-makers at enterprise companies, as well as owners and managers at smaller publishers.

  • Process-Driven: Highly organised and detail-oriented, with a structured approach to managing sales activities and pipelines independently.

  • Quota Achievement: Experience consistently exceeding annual sales quotas of €800k-€1m+ in ARR, and a demonstrated ability to manage a diverse range of deal sizes and processes. 

  • Proven Closing Skills: A demonstrated ability to successfully negotiate and close complex deals.

  • Resourcefulness: A proactive and independent problem-solver with a demonstrated ability to find creative solutions to overcome obstacles. 

  • Regional/Vertical Expansion Experience: Prior experience successfully opening a new region or vertical market is highly desirable. This demonstrates the ability to build a market presence from the ground up as an individual contributor.

  • Leadership Potential: Demonstrated leadership qualities, including initiative, strategic thinking, and a desire to contribute to the overall growth of the DACH market, positioning you for potential future growth into a Country Manager role.

What we are offering...

We take a structured, objective approach to salary-setting, which is based on marketing information, our compensation strategy, and your experience and capability assessed through our interview process. For a typical candidate who meets our requirements, we pay a base salary of €120,000 - €140,000. 

Additional compensation..

If you join Permutive as a Sales Director with a base salary of €140,000 and reach 100% quota attainment in a year, your OTE for that year will be around €280,000. The true earning potential is significantly higher as your potential to earn is uncapped, 100% quota attainment is the minimum expectation for our Sales Directors.

Permutive trusts you to manage your time and deliver results. Our hybrid model allows you to choose where you work best, whether in your own productive space or our London (Farringdon) or New York (Union Square) offices. That said, none of us work alone; we are part of a team. 

To foster collaboration and connection, teams in these locations come together in person at least once a week and are encouraged to benefit from being in our offices to meet with teams more often. Commercial and customer-facing teams are encouraged to embrace in-person interactions to build lasting relationships with clients and colleagues. 

Every Permutive employee gets together in person at the company’s Annual Kick Off for a week in February.  Each year’s event promises to be an exciting opportunity for us to come together, reconnect with colleagues, and align on our shared vision for the year ahead.
