Job description

A national building products manufacturer is seeking a Human Resources Manager to support the HR initiatives for their facility in Kansas City. Responsibilities include partnering with company leadership to develop and implement HR Strategies that promote employee satisfaction and a high-performance culture.

This is an onsite position in Kansas City and non-local candidates will be required to relocate.  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Act as the main driving force in the development and implementation of HR strategy to align with company goals and business culture
  • Participate in the union, labor negotiations and grievance process with site employees
  • Develop and implement programs to improve employee satisfaction and increase retention
  • Effectively oversee employee relations cases by conducting thorough investigations and administering a sound resolution that minimizes company exposure administration of policy as it relates to state and federal guidelines
  • Development and execute talent development opportunities for employees to ensure a succession plan that supports company growth
  • Utilize reporting tools to acquire and analyze metrics to support data driven decision-making
  • Collaborate with the Legal Dept. to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS 

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant human resources experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 5 plus years’ experience in a union environment with hands on experience resolving grievances and labor relations
  • Thorough knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to Human Resources
  • Strong understanding of change-management principles, methodologies, and best practices
  • PHR or SHRM certification required
  • Must have strong analytical and critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with team-members at all levels of an organization
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field
