Role Overview 

For several years, TM Forum has been at the forefront of developing Open APIs to enhance interoperability and integration within the communications industry. With over 850,000 downloads and adoption by 40,000 software engineers from more than 2,500 organizations, demand for Open APIs continues to rise. We are seeking a highly skilled and collaborative Open API Domain Architect to support this growth and drive technical excellence. 

The Open API Domain Architect will work alongside our Architecture practice, providing strong leadership and governance to our Open API project. You will help define Open API architecture guidelines, support technical professionals from diverse backgrounds, and ensure inclusive decision-making processes. 

This role requires an engineering and operational excellence mindset, with hands-on involvement and the ability to engage with a broad range of professionals, fostering an inclusive and respectful work environment.

The Open API Domain Architect will: 

  • Lead the strategic development and governance of Open APIs. 
  • Foster collaboration with diverse partners & members, including network engineers, DevOps teams, and telco providers. 
  • Define and enforce TM Forum Open API standards, aligning with 5G, IoT, and edge computing
  • Architect network & BSS/OSS APIs, ensuring efficiency and scalability. 
  • Oversee API lifecycle management, including monetization models. 
  • Implement security & compliance measures (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, MTLS, etc.). 
  • Optimize API performance and analytics, ensuring SLA compliance. 
  • Support cloud and DevOps integration, aligning with Kubernetes and other modern frameworks.
