Reporting to the Sales Team Lead, and as an integral part of Questel’s Sales Team, you are responsible to lead efforts to identify, expand and/or develop new revenue while maintaining relationships with Questel’s key clients.  
As a key account manager, you are in charge of promoting all the Questel catalog of services and SAAS in the Patent Division (search tool and services, Renewals, Recordals, Translation, filings as well as IP management systems).
The key account manager works closely with “Subject Matter Experts” in charge of demonstrating software or presenting the detailed value proposition of our services while he is the one coordinating, following and closing the business opportunities.  Your action will focus on:

 

  • Initiate contacts with prospects, generate leads and opportunities in the assigned territory
  • Manage a group of Questel’s clients by maintaining existing revenue and bring growth revenue
  • Build strong client relationships, working directly with decision-makers and key influencers at each client
  • Educate clients on all existing and new offerings
  • Understand key competitors and how our service offering can provide a superior experience to our clients
  • Actively contribute to organizational learning by providing and tracking resolution for client feedback to internal stakeholders
  • Prepare and implement key account planning for each strategic client for regular reviews
  • Keep records of client interactions in the company CRM

Education and Experience:  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required, with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in an IP Sales team.

 

  • Fluent in English
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of an organization, including executive and C-level
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Account and team management experience and skills
  • Experience and/or good knowledge of competitors offers (Derwent Innovation, Patsnap, Patbase, Patseer …)
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
  • Ability to interact with Corporate and law firms customers, understand their needs, create solutions, and grow revenue
  • Motivation/willingness to take initiative, engage with clients and complete assignments
  • Participate in a culture of responsiveness to strengthen relationships and ensure the needs and time of others are met and respected
