We use deep human insights, design innovation and data to create experiences powered by modern technology. Our approaches speed engagement and growth for the companies we work with and transform relationships between businesses and the people they serve.

About the Marketing Director role

The Marketing Director for Material is a leader within our marketing organization, partnering with senior leaders to drive enterprise growth. You will work with business leaders who support our marketing communications programs, including partnership marketing and communications to develop marketing strategies, positioning, messaging and go-to-market plans, including events, thought leadership, awards, and more.

This position is an exciting opportunity for a results-driven marketing leader to design innovative ways for Material to enhance our market presence and maximize the impact of our partnerships. Success in this role requires agility, strategic thinking and the ability to adapt quickly to evolving business needs while leading the organization through change.

As a Marketing Director, you will

  • Collaborate with business development and partnership leads to develop and deliver enterprise-level marketing activities and engagements.

  • Collaborate with extended Material teams to deliver top-notch experiences for partners, customers and prospects.

  • Drive communications outreach related to press releases and thought leadership.

  • Oversee other external communications programs including awards, speaking opportunities and social media.

  • Support the development of Material’s marketing strategy, including positioning, messaging and go-to-market plans.

  • Drive the execution of marketing plans, ensuring they maximize business impact and are delivered on time and within budget.

  • Own relationships with partner marketing leads, co-developing joint programming and executing external campaigns.

  • Collaborate with subject matter expert teams to develop programs, content, resources and materials tailored for key internal and external audiences.

  • Lead planning meetings to establish event and campaign strategies that align with shared business goals.

  • Evaluate and prioritize requests and initiatives based on their potential to drive outcomes, ensuring focus on high-impact efforts that align with strategic objectives.

  • Utilize data-driven insights to measure ROI and optimize marketing tactics through a test-and-learn approach.

  • Partner with internal teams to manage the planning and execution of large-scale events, aligning efforts with broader marketing campaigns.

  • Cultivate strong relationships with Material leadership and SMEs to ensure alignment and effective collaboration.

About you

  • A data-driven, results-oriented marketing leader with the ability to collaborate with multiple internal and external stakeholders to drive business results across a shared vision.

  • Someone with a proven history of executing partner marketing plans, integrated marketing and communications programs, go-to-market strategies and cross-platform campaigns that deliver measurable results.

  • A leader who will collaborate extensively with business and marketing leads and external stakeholders to develop and execute strategies that align with Material’s overall objectives.

  • A passionate and curious marketer who embraces a learner’s mindset.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of marketing experience with at least 5 years in B2B marketing and/or partner marketing.

  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in Business, Marketing or Communications.

  • Strong leadership experience, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while remaining flexible and consistently meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to maintain professional composure, even under pressure.

  • Experience managing budgets and complex schedules.

  • Keen understanding of the partner ecosystem and running partner-specific campaigns.

  • Experience in technology and/or market research is a plus.
