Investment Reporting Analyst!
About The Role
As the Investment Reporting Analyst, you are a key participant in the Symetra Investment Management Co.’s (“SIM”) investment close and reporting cycle. You’ll be an impactful member of our investment reporting team responsible for transforming large amounts of investment data and other information into presentations and tools that tell the story of our clients’ portfolios. You will complete internal and external reporting, analyze company results for both internal and external parties, provide support to the investment front office and performance measurement manager, work with marketing and legal to support external reporting and future clients, and contribute to projects within the investment reporting department as needed.

What You Will Do
- Produce recurring investment reports timely, accurately and completely, including monthly portfolio summaries, reporting for clients, front office, board of directors, and the investment committee.
- Perform month-end portfolio performance procedures such as reasonableness and completeness checks, as well as due diligence to ensure accurate portfolio valuations and returns and reports are distributed in a timely manner. Prior marketing and client reporting experience is a strong plus.
- Complete portfolio attribution reporting and help to analyze and interpret the results to understand the drivers of portfolio returns when time allows
- Support the investment performance function and help adhere to, and maintain, procedures that further GIPS®-compliant performance results. This includes managing composite memberships, generating composite presentations, and helping with the GIPS® verification audits.
- Partner with the marketing, legal and compliance teams to update/maintain external and client reporting adhering to all requirements and disclosures as needed.
- Develop new investment reports, as needed, to assess and analyze the impact of current market events and/or fulfill ad hoc requests.
- Coordinate with all levels of investment and finance management across the broader organization to gather, analyze and prepare internal and external investment financial reports.
- Translate large datasets into meaningful analysis for a wide audience.
- Support the investment month-end close and reporting cycles and complete general reporting tasks and deliverables as needed.
- Utilize technology and automation tools to enhance functionality of reports for consumers and reduce error-prone and/or time-consuming procedures.
- Partner with team members to improve processes and workflows with an emphasis on building value, transparency and sustainability.
- Maintain procedural documentation for assigned areas.

Compensation
Salary Range: $77,600 – $129,400 plus eligibility for annual bonus programs
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Management Information Systems, Data Science or Computer Science.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Prior client service, GIPS®, performance and attribution experience preferred.
- Confirmed understanding of investments, including fixed income asset classes. Derivatives and alternative investments experience a plus.
- Experience working with internal teams updating requests and external reports like RFPs, DDQs, ad hoc requests a strong plus.
- CIPM certification or progress towards one is preferred.
- CFA certification or progress towards one is a plus.
- Understanding of investment accounting.
- Experience using SimCorp Dimension and/or Clearwater accounting system a plus.
- Critical attention to detail and developing analytical thinking skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Self-motivated, with the desire to learn.
- Great teammate who can work both independently and in a team environment; cross-train and cover for colleagues; be a culture carrier.
- Able to prioritize and meet deadlines, recognizing when assistance or resources are needed and escalate as necessary.
- Versatility and flexibility to work extra hours as needed to assist with coverage of other team members and to support business needs.
- Advanced Excel skills including VBA and automation.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as PowerBI (including Power Query).
- Ability to query databases e.g., SQL queries.
- Ability to map operational workflows using tools such as Visio, Lucid Chart or Miro.
- Demonstrated interest and ability to use AI tools.
- Programming languages such as Python etc.
- High school diploma required.
- This is a remote role with required travel to the Farmington office for in-person events a few times per year.
