POWER Engineers is seeking an Environmental Project Manager to join our team supporting our Midwest Environmental Services Project Management and Planning Group. This is a remote opportunity reporting into our Columbus, OH, office location and can be based in any of the following cities:
Cincinnati, OH
Cleveland, OH
Columbus, OH
Chicago, IL
Minneapolis, MN
Detroit, MI
Ann Arbor, MI
Roles And Responsibilities
The primary focus for this Environmental Project Manager will be natural resource permitting for transmission lines and substations in the Midwest states. Other responsibilities would include transmission line and substation routing and siting. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative and responsive professional, with strong communication and organizational skills.
Responsibilities Include But May Not Be Limited To
Working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams which could include engineers, siting and routing specialists, planners, and permitting and environmental specialists
Client coordination and quality control of natural and cultural resource deliverables
Preparing and monitoring project scope, schedule, and budget
Providing advice on natural resource state and local permitting
Performing routing/siting studies and analyses and preparing associated reports
Participating in the preparation of state applications
Up to 10% travel is expected
Required Education/Experience
B.S. or B.A. in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related degree
Eight (8) + years managing natural and cultural resource permitting
Expertise and understanding of permitting requirements in IN, MI, OH, MO, and IL
Extensive knowledge and demonstrated expertise in federal and state environmental policy and regulation is required
Strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational and multi-tasking ability, defining and understanding client requirements, managing expectations, communicating with clients and project staff
Desired Education/Experience
Midwest expertise in siting/routing, environmental planning, and analysis, state siting applications, technical writing in electric transmission lines and substations
Experience preparing applications for submittal to state public utility commissions/boards is highly desirable

Base Salary Range: $94K - $150K. The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on several factors to include an individual's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This means that no two candidates are alike. The range provided above does not include additional compensation such as bonus, health benefits, vacation, 401(k) match, etc.
