Overview:

Hexagon Autonomy & Positioning is looking for a talented Director of Program Management to lead our Core Autonomy Program Management Office (PMO) team managing autonomous site solutions and enabling building blocks from conception to production and deployment ready. This role will serve as a key leader within the core autonomy organization, ensuring program execution, delivering on strategic objectives, and driving cross-functional alignment across Hexagon Autonomous Solutions. The ideal candidate will have exceptional skills in leadership, process, and scheduling, and a proven track record of managing complex technology programs throughout all business phases from ideation to delivery.

 

Reporting directly to the co-president of the division, this position will join a high-performance team focused on creating impactful communications that inspires confidence in our company.

Responsibilities:

As our Director of Program Management, you would be responsible for: 

  • Leading the PMO team managing multiple autonomy business programs simultaneously, ensuring on-time results that meet financial goals.

  • Developing PMO team capability that is “can-do” spirited, results driven, schedule focused, and highly skilled in communication and cross functional collaboration.

  • Establishing PMO team methodologies for scheduling, cost and risk management.

  • Using program data and analytics to continuously improve schedule and cost forecasting.

  • Acting as the primary point of contact for program status to exec team including program achievements, schedule, risks, cost.

  • Ensuring key program milestones are tightly coupled to revenue and cash conversion forecasts.

  • Delivering business reports for Core Autonomy department through cumulated program results.

  • Align programs with core autonomy business architecture through cross-functional collaboration across business teams including product, commercial, engineering, deployment, operations, legal, and finance.

  • Architecting PMO communication systems across business teams to ensure seamless execution of projects and to synchronize all functions in the business.

  • Ensuring PMO team removes roadblocks to maintain program momentum.

  • Designing PMO Risk management practices to proactively anticipate and mitigate program issues

  • Working with department leaders to roadmap key business capabilities thru CI programs with KPIs, including engineering, deployment, safety, quality, and culture

  • Building, mentoring, and managing a high-performing team of program & project managers.

  • Fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Providing regular feedback and professional development opportunities for team members.

  • Developing and refine program management methodologies, tools, and processes to enhance efficiency and scalability.

  • Ensuring consistent program management practices across all teams.

Qualifications:

 

Must-Have:                         

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in program/project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

  • Proven experience managing large-scale, cross-functional engineering programs.

  • Solid understanding of engineering principles and software/hardware development lifecycle.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Proficient in program management tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project, Smartsheet).

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including regular executive updates.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience in Agile and/or hybrid program management environments.

  • PMP, PgMP, or SAFe certification.
