Job description

At Lyft, we are building a more connected world, ride by ride. Whether it's an everyday commute or a journey that changes everything, we are driven by our purpose: to serve and connect.

To create the best ride for all, we start in our own community by creating an open, inclusive, and diverse organization where all team members are recognized for what they bring.

Data Curation Operations is a team which supports all ongoing curation projects for Mapping and other teams at Lyft. Our mission is to improve customer experience in Lyft products by providing high-quality, comprehensive, and efficient data curation operations.

The Places Data Curation team at Lyft focuses on providing accurate and complete places data to enhance the rider, driver, and partner experiences, as well as supporting data-dependent products within Lyft. In this role, you will work closely with the engineering and product teams on curation projects which involve data enrichment, creation, and maintenance for static places, real-time metadata, and rider-generated data. If you have an entrepreneurial spirit, like to solve challenging problems, and want to be part of the next big thing at Lyft, we would love to meet you!

Responsibilities:
  • Manage curation projects from start to finish, including initiatives with high ambiguity and complexity.
  • Lead the team responsible for Places Data Curation, assisting Engineering and Product teams through feature improvements, experimentation, and new feature launches. Drive continuous improvement in team processes.

  • Proactively identify and resolve issues, advocate for resources, and develop creative solutions.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the business impact of projects, effectively scope opportunities, and initiate new projects based on business priorities and product impact.
  • Manage changes effectively and professionally, implement process improvements, and proactively collaborate with partners as needed.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships, leverage insights to inform partner decisions, and optimize curation quality and efficiency. Work with senior leadership to ensure blockers, risks, and open questions are addressed on time.
  • Set performance expectations, provide regular feedback, conduct performance reviews, and foster a positive and inclusive team environment.
  • Participate in the interview process as needed, in consultation with recruiting and people teams, following best practices.
Experience & Skills:
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience as a team lead or similar role (preferably managing data curation or customer service teams).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Passion for delivering great customer experiences with a strong track record. Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-directed and organized, comfortable with ambiguity, and able to prioritize multiple competing workflows. Takes initiative and knows when to ask for support.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Ukrainian. Ability to adapt communication style for different stakeholders and proactively share updates.
  • Team player with a positive and collaborative approach, supporting team brainstorming and stakeholder communication.
  • Ability to coach and develop team members within the organization.
  • Comfortable learning and using new processes, systems, and tools, including data labeling tools and Google Workspace products.
