SUMMARY:    The Interior will be an integral part of the Architecture design and delivery team. You will work collaboratively with Senior Project Architects and BV Engineering teams to deliver a broad range of project types and sizes. The ideal candidate has experience in selecting finishes, space planning, preparing presentations, and drafting construction documents and coordinating with engineers and sub-consultants.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other job-related duties may be assigned in conformance with state and federal regulations.

 

  1. Follow best practices and company standards for technical excellence and delivery.
  2. Owns the project-by-project communication across the leadership team and keeps them informed of any actual or potential issues, including continuing updates of when reports will be e-mailed/shipped to the production team.
  3. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated design solutions that enhance the overall architectural vision.
  4. Create innovative interior design concepts that align with client goals, functional requirements, and budget constraints.
  5. Produce detailed drawings, renderings, and presentations using industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite).
  6. Develop specifications for interior finishes, furnishings, lighting, and other design elements.
  7. Prepare and revise construction documents, ensuring designs adhere to building codes, ADA regulations, and other relevant standards.
  8. Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget requirements.
  9. Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors throughout the design and implementation phases.
  10. Conduct on-site visits and inspections to ensure design integrity during construction and installation.
  11. Present design concepts to clients, effectively communicating ideas and incorporating feedback.
  12. Maintain strong client relationships through regular updates and collaborative decision-making.
  13. Stay current with industry trends, new materials, and innovative design techniques.
  14. Evaluate sustainable and energy-efficient design practices to incorporate into projects.
  15. Protects operations by keeping company information confidential. Use of professional discretion and judgement is mandatory.
  16. Demonstrates BV’s guiding principles in support of the company's strategic goals.
  17. Follows all documented policies, Standard Operating Procedures, and Work Instructions applicable to the position and support of BV's quality standards and strategic initiatives.
  18. Maintains safe and clean work area by complying with all procedures, rules, and regulations.
  19. Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job.

Education and/or Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in Interior Design or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 6 years in the Interior Design Industry
  • Minimum of 5 years in the production of technical drawings for commercial projects

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Prefer on a path to licensure or certification.
  • Valid driver's license required with no significant MVA points/violations (clean driving record).
  • Employees who incur $2,000 or more per year in company-related travel expenses will be required to obtain a Corporate Credit Card. Employees who incur less than $2,000 per year in company-related travel expenses will be required to have sufficient personal credit to cover their business travel costs.

 

Language Ability: Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and standard operating procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, peers, and technical field staff.

 

Reasoning AbilityAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. 

 

Technology Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in operating a computer, having knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, and project management software, to include AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Suite and business specific software and other project specific applications. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to operate an electronic tablet in the field for live data collection.

  • Required to travel by Plane, Motor Vehicle, Train (up to 15% of the time) to client sites across the U.S. Overnight stays away from home may be required.

 

While performing the office/offsite duties of this job:

The employee is regularly required to use hands. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the home or company office environment is usually quiet.
