Job description

Join our team as a Gas Engineer/Plumber and help insulate homes with Octopus Energy ECO! 🐙

We're excited to connect with amazing people based across West Yorkshire, West Midlands and East Midlands. If you're based in one of these areas, we’d love to hear from you. You will be based out of our Sheffield and/or Nottingham warehouse where you will be required to collect materials from & manage your van stock on a day-to-day basis.

Here at Octopus Energy ECO, we’re responsible for delivering the government mandated ECO scheme. We are passionate about helping vulnerable customers of lower-income by improving the insulation in their homes, to help reduce their bills and carbon emissions.  We work with an internal and external supply chain insulating customer homes across the UK within the compliance rules of the ECO scheme.

Are you an experienced plasterer who’s worked in domestic properties? We want YOU to join our growing team as we help improve insulation in homes across the UK! At Octopus Energy ECO, we are passionate about helping low-income customers and those on benefits reduce their energy bills and carbon footprint through government-mandated ECO obligations.

What you'll do
  • You will be working closely with our Internal Wall Insulation (IWI) teams, undertaking a range of plumbing and gas-related tasks, including:
  • Removing and refitting radiators.
  • Extending and modifying existing services.
  • Relocating boilers.
  • Addressing plumbing and gas-related challenges.

  • What you'll need
  • Someone who is practical, resourceful, and capable of managing their workload effectively while offering creative solutions to any issues that may arise during day-to-day operations.
  • Travel will be required and you will be required to work away when required.
  • Proven background in plumbing and gas work.
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems efficiently.
  • A team player who is adaptable and focused on delivering high-quality work.
  • Relevant gas and plumbing certifications are essential.
  • Familiarity with ECO is a plus!
  • 💚 Why else you'll love it here

💰 Wondering what the salary for this role is? Just ask us! On a call with one of our recruiters it's something we always cover as we genuinely want to match your experience with the correct salary. The reason why we don't advertise is because we honestly have a degree of flexibility and would never want salary to be a reason why someone doesn't apply to Octopus - what's more important to us is finding the right octofit!

🎉 Octopus Energy Group is a unique culture. An organisation where people learn, decide, and build quicker.
