Job description

We are seeking a seasoned Desktop Virtualization Architect to join our team as an Architecture Senior Advisor. In this role, you will be part of a global health service company committed to improving the health, well-being, and security of individuals. You will play a critical role in delivering exceptional technical strategy and architecture solutions, particularly within the Virtual Workspace domain. Your work will directly impact our clients and customers, helping to shape the future of healthcare.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and deliver key virtualization projects within Cigna’s hosted desktop and application environments, including implementations of Citrix products such as Netscaler, XenApp/XenDesktop, and Provisioning Services.
  • Undertake complex projects that require advanced technical knowledge across multiple disciplines and make sound decisions on architectural issues.
  • Collaborate with users to determine their requirements and ensure successful implementation and monitoring of system improvements for enhanced efficiency.
  • Monitor project schedules and costs to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Provide thought leadership within the architecture field and contribute to broader business projects.
  • Mentor and guide other architects, engineers, and operations staff through one-on-one interactions and team knowledge-sharing sessions, such as "Lunch and Learn" activities.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients by using analytical skills to make quick decisions, always showing empathy and sincerity.
  • Keep thorough documentation and present findings to internal teams and senior leadership as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of information technology experience, with at least 4 years in a Senior Engineer or Technical Architect role.
  • Extensive experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (preferably Citrix Cloud), including MCS, PVS, and Workspace App.
  • Proficient in public cloud environments, particularly with desktop workloads in Azure.
  • Knowledgeable in application delivery tools such as Citrix App Layering (UniDesk) and Liquidware Labs FlexApp.
  • Skilled in persona management solutions, including Liquidware Labs Profile Unity and FSLogix.
  • Experience with hosting hardware, ideally Nutanix or other hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) solutions.
  • Familiarity with hypervisors, preferably AHV and/or ESXi, as well as NetScaler and related access layer components.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 135,600 - 226,000 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.

We want you to be healthy, balanced, and feel secure. That’s why you’ll enjoy a comprehensive range of benefits, with a focus on supporting your whole health. Starting on day one of your employment, you’ll be offered several health-related benefits including medical, vision, dental, and well-being and behavioral health programs. We also offer 401(k) with company match, company paid life insurance, tuition reimbursement, a minimum of 18 days of paid time off per year and paid holidays.
