Category Strategy Intern

SupplyHouse.com, an innovative and industry leading e-commerce company, is looking for a Category Strategy Intern to work with us virtually this summer! This individual will gain hands-on experience and be exposed to the daily functions of working on our private label, Bluefin. 

This is a remote-based role within select states in the United States. At this time, we are only able to employ those located in the following states: Arizona, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington. 

This position may require travel to our NY office headquarters up to two times during the program for internal meetings and team-building activities. The cost of travel will be covered by the company. Additionally, our offices are always available for staff to use as much as desired.  

Location: Remote (Arizona, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington)  

Length of Program: Monday, June 2nd, through Friday, August 8th 

Internship On-Site Meeting: Wednesday, June 18th (required) 

Category Management On-Site Meeting: Wednesday, June 11th, and Thursday, June 12th (optional) 

Hours: Standard business hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. EST. However, there is some flexibility as per our Flex-Time Policy.

Salary: $20.00/hour 

The Day to Day: 

• Track and monitor PO’s to ensure suppliers are hitting agreed upon delivery deadlines 
• Schedule factory audits with third-party auditor and monitor results with lead 
• Order development samples and monitor feedback 
• Gather SKU data information from suppliers and pass to team members to update PDP’s 
• Attend and participate in team meetings with cross-functional teams and send recaps of action items 
• Analyze our competition’s assortment to determine if there are any gaps in our product offering 
• Build relationships with suppliers and work with them directly on daily requests 

Requirements: 

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Business, Merchandising, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field 
• Ability to work well both independently and in a team setting 
• Strong attention to detail and ability to quickly execute assigned tasks 
• Excellent organization and time management skills 
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and Outlook
